The Fishy has been around for approaching 20 years. I want to get the best team 1-11 (from squad numbers). These are the No. 1's during that time. Please vote for the best you remember (or from reputation if you are too young!)
Danny Coyne
Aidan Davison
Anthony Williams
Steve Mildenhall
Phil Barnes
Kenny Arthur
James McKeown
Greg Fleming
Jonathan Hedge
The last two have been dropped as they hardly played.
In a few days we'll do No. 2, then No. 3 and so on....

Danny Coyne for me, having said that, the list is a good list, and we have been lucky in that position for some time

Where's Tommy Forecast?
Nick Colgan?!
jarmo was right when he said we were normally blessed in the goalkeeping position but what an awful season that was for keepers!

Come on, hands up. Who voted for Anthony Williams? ;D

If it's based on squad numbers that means no place for Gary Lump, which makes a mockery of the whole thing!

Where’s Steve Croudson? Those few games he played at conference level when he had been retired through injury and played through the pain deserve a mention.

Where`s Batch?
I don't think The Fishy was around when Batchy was playing.
Maybe an abacus but that was about as technical as it got back then, ;D

I think Batchy pre-dated Teletext never mind the Fishy! And there certainly weren't squad numbers in the 80s.

I don't even remember Kenny Arthur?
Is it a Joke or am I having a senior moment?

Played 28 games in our first conference season.
Has a glove company, think McKeown is a wearer.

Wayne. Didn’t we have an Iain Anderson who played in midfield and scored a few goals IIRC?

I got that Ginny! ;)

Hmmm. I see Coyne is running away with it but I went for Davison. Coyne was a great shot-stopper, but weak in other areas. Davison was good at all aspects, from what I remember, if not as good a shot-stopper.

Wasn't Wayne Henderson the keeper who had an incredible game against Notts County when we had free travel?

Yes that was him. Awesome that game,

Ah. Got you. It was before my time so that’s cheered me up! So much so that I am off to the pub for a few beers (truth be told I was going anyway 😊)
