There seem to be a number on here and my hope is you stay away from BP on Saturday and save your anger for another time.

It looks bleak but until the maths says we’re down I won’t accept it and hope the players won’t either. Saturday is massive and the club/team need every ounce of support and positivity we the fans can give to help us survive.

If you go with any other intention you may as well stand in with the Chesterfield fans and shout for them.

I get your point but it's pretty hard to be optimistic when you haven't won for 20 games - sorry if that appears negative!

Definitely, what is flipping boring though is this forum after a defeat. 5-odd threads essentially saying the same things as soon as we lose - it's irrelevant, Fenty is not going to go between now and the end of the season, we all know what the general consensus of the handful who have their trigger-finger permanently set to 'post' is. To remind us of it constantly is boring but also entirely unproductive.

Agree entirely OC and I’m can be equally negative about it all! My point is we need to shelve it at 3pm on Saturday.

Maybe - just so frustrating from where we were a year ago. Inconsistent but a squad with potential to improve, now devoid of ability and confidence under the care of a newbie manager who has been thrown in at the deep end and clearly wasn't first choice.

The players seem to only be able of competing for 30 minutes so I don't buy into your hope of the players not giving up, they are losers and anyone who goes is entitled to their opinion and vent their anger if they so please.

But if you do go, don't get at the players let Fenty and his yes men in the boardroom know how you feel and what you think about them.

Let's not even get at the Board. next Saturday. The players, assuming that they care, will be nervous and will need total support, not a negative, angry atmosphere. There's an argument that some of them are not really bothered by the situation that we're in, but we got behind the team against Port Vale and got a draw . The same must happen next week.

Desperately seeking for positives and I may have found one.

If (and granted it's a huge "if") we can beat Chesterfield. We'll be 7 points above them with them having 3 games in hand.

With those games in hand, realistically it's incredibly unlikely for chesterfield to pick up 7 points from 9 when the games in hand are; Morecambe away, Exeter away and Newport home.

There's life in the old girl yet...

Just not much. UTM

Marinerz93, as you say anyone who goes is free to do what they want. However, imho you’d be hard pressed to pass yourself off as a supporter if one of the times the club truly needs your support you go with the intention of abusing either the players or the board at the first opportunity.

Save it for another time.

Exactly this.
People seem to be obsessed with abuse as opposed to getting behind the team.

TBF I never expected anything from today even after going a goal up, the fact that losing a lead to a defeat is worse IMO than if they scored a couple in the first half, its the hope and all that.

A win against Chesterfield and Barnet should set us up nicely for the Village game

Every game we say the same thing and every frigging game we fail to defend basic set pieces miss simple chaces and fall away in the second half.

Fecking fed up to the back teeth of it.

I will be going. I will be getting behind the team from the first minute until the end of the game.
But I’ll be honest, if after 90 minutes we have been embarrassed again I will be letting John Fenty and his ‘board’ know exactly how I feel.  Let’s hope we have a massive crowd and no need for any negativity at all.  So, no, I’m not going there with any intention of being negative. And I genuinely believe I won’t have to be. But when that final whistle goes then it’s my right.

We haven’t won one in twenty the worst goal difference in the league, we cannot defend we cannot score and you expect us to win 3 out of 5. Really.!!!

Newport saved themselves from a far worse situation last season. They were down until the 89th minute of the last game. It's not over until it's over.

Erm we had a big crowd that got behind the team against Stevenage but we still couldn't win.

Agree Civvy. I’ll wait until the just back thread but there seems to be creeping improvement in areas of our play and hopefully this will culminate in a good result on Saturday.

I think many like me think we will go down ,

BUT

We are hoping we mange a couple of wins to survive,

Its only a slim chance but its the only chance we have.

Never give up until its mathmatical certain.

We are as good as down the majority of these players are not on long contracts they stopped playing months ago, do you really think they will be bothered if we go down or not? We are just another team to them it's just another job, it's like me being told I'm getting made redundant next month and being expected to give a excrement!

Agree that anything is possible until it’s mathematically impossible, but it’s not looking great is it? I’m desperately disappointed for all Town fans at having to go through this again.

The common denominator during our troubled times is one Tory bloke whose ego is bigger than the North Sea and who doesn’t think anything is his fault. What sickens me is that he thinks he’s better than us, but without us John, GTFC would be nothing. Your incompetence has screwed us. You don’t deserve our support.

Wow. Quite a number of assumptions being made there and you seem to have missed the point of my post.

I have a list as long as your arm of negative things I could say about the board, players, ex manager, PR team etc etc, and most definitely don’t have my head in the sand about the state of our club or the possibility of relegation. But bringing any of this to surface between 3pm and 4.45pm on Saturday isn’t going to help us avoid relegation one jot.

Or it's not over until the fat lady sings.. who is this fat woman?!

We should find her and stop her singing!

Then we'll stay up!

PS maybe it's not PC to use the word "fat" now in relation to people.. we can't say anything that might offend anyone!!!..

Wont be there next week as got a weekend away booked....still have zero faith we will get anything from the game.....its all there for anyone to see

no matter who we are against, in form, out of form, higher or lower we cant beat them....thats been 20 games...that isnt a fluke or bad luck or poor refereeing....or building....or about to turn a corner .....

no matter which of the 30 odd players we pick there is zero match winning quality,

we have no focal point to our attacking play.....

we cant defend set pieces...

concede a goal and we collapse ...

Yet people think we will somehow win next week and clinch another win somewhere after and we hope that our rivals dont pick anything up.

we all have our views and admitedly  wasnt there today but i have seen plenty of the previous 20 games to form the opinion that i certainly wont be putting my mortgage on us staying up.

We have been completely fcked over by the board in January and are paying the price now.

Not sure of the relevance but yes I will, along with my dad and brother. We have about 120 years of supporting Town between us but frankly I don’t care if it’s someone first game in decades if they’re there to get behind the team.

I get what you mean Moosey but a couple of weeks ago today would have been a 4 - 1, maybe bigger but the players had enough possession and a couple of decent opportunities to level the game.

For once everyone put a shift in which suggests MJ can get players engaged, personally for me it’s all coming 4 weeks too late.

from reports of those that went today it could easily have been 4 or bigger as well...Akinfenwa fluffing his lines on a couple of occassions and hitting the woodwork......i have seen us change slightly but we still cant take a chance and we still dont create anything like enough chances to give our 1 goal in every 8/9/10 chance players... are we saying 3 good chances today maybe ?  3 last week against Stevenage as well ....yet 1 goal to show...and thats following an improvement...but whatever Jolley is doing with the set piece defending isnt working ....if you play our recent goals against from Lincoln, Coventry, today there are some very similar goals.

I went today and yeah maybe we could have conceded more but we didn’t plus if you go away to 3rd in the league when you’re second from bottom there is always a chance that you’ll concede a few.

We created more chances today than in recent away games and arguably more than a lot of the “better” sides have done who have come to BP this season. We lack the quality to convert them but that’s Slade’s fault for signing Donkeys.

Yeah get what you mean about set pieces but that has been an issue with Town since Hurst was the manager and I think to expect MJ to change it in a few weeks might be too much to ask.

Fenty and his yes men need to go, for all the mess he has caused you'd be hard pressed to pass yourself off as a fan being 3rd from bottom and accepting the state he has put the club in. I'm not talking about chanting or demonstrations, I'm talking about telling him he needs to go.

Fenty out and the yes men out!

I will be there until seasons end but this has been the worst season on and off the field in my 50 odd years of supporting GTFC.

I really do not think we will come back up again in my lifetime if we go down again, I already gave up on seeing us in a new stadium years ago.

Realistically, Chesterfield and Barnet will both be feeling they absolutely have to beat us to stand a chance of staying up as well. Hoping that Chesterfield’s fixture pile up might just do for them. Having said that, we’ve not won for 20 games it looks a tall order to win to win 2 on the bounce and possibly one more at Forest Green. I’ve not given up hope but I’m not far off.

There are signs of improvement, and a narrow defeat away to the third place team is no disgrace.

But its some of the other games that we failed to win that have put us where we are.

We have all known for ages that it will come down to the next two games. We have to win them both. If we don't it's really game over.

Results are all that matters we do support them and seeing a full house should lift any player see how we reacted when Woolford scored we are pleading, begging this team to win a friggin game.

its strange how the believers of us surviving, of which i am not one, have been whittling away the season since we sacked Slade...

...its a ten game season now ..

...its a seven game season now ...

... its a two game season ....

odds are diminishing on a weekly basis , all of our rivals have been picking up more points than we have over the last 10 games...in some cases three times + as many points and all at least double what we have amassed....same applies if you just look at the last 6 games...
