Was just speaking to a current GTFC player that I bumped into at the shop and had a chat about what’s going on at the club. Commented that training is a lot more intense and profsssional than under the previous regime.

To my surprise, he named a central midfielder brought in by Slade in the summer as a player that is universally disliked by the rest of the players, has been the cause of serious unrest in the dressing room and that doesn’t put the effort in and doesn’t care. Also stated that this person is the most unfit player in the squad.

That was quite a revealing conversation whilst queuing in the Co-Op, was this current GTFC buying "reliable source"?

It's an eye opener that not only was Slade useless, it sounds like we are only now putting in intensive training sessions, when we should be at our peak. Bit late to be getting players fit enough to compete at this stage of the season.

This is what I don't understand about Slade, on RH today it was mentioned that Jolley has given the players a diet/ nutrition plan, I thought nowadays this sort of thing was standard, haven't we a fitness coach in the club already. Just makes you wonder how professional and modern Slade was.

Slade obviously did his due diligence on him then just like he did the Bmi test on Clarke

If so it's time for Wilko to step up to the mark and to tell Jolley before it's too late.

I’ve said this before but it probably is Rose and it’s most likely because he’s half way to being a millionaire as a result of his brothers success so that’s why he can’t be arsed.

Maybe Slade's Powerpoint presentations didn't cover fitness etc, just defence "techniques" and "tactics"

Out of interest, given the departed one's teaching methods, does anyone know why we are still bringing everyone back in to the box for opposition corners?

When Slade left I thought that might have been one of the first things that changed, but no.... we're still at it  :-/

We had better players at the end of last season than we have now. With the possible exception of Dembele, I can't think of one Slade signing that improved us.

Don't disagree but what that has to do with the title of the thread I'm not sure. My point was about Hurst had a degree of discipline in the squad and not his about his transfer dealings. Also those "better players" where all signed by Hurst so to a degree you could be seen as contradicting yourself.

I really thought we got away from all this when we got relegated the first time. we had flipping conlon not bothering to turn up to training so many time wasters and poor older players looking for a last contract.

The time in the conference built us all together and we assembled a decent squad, we appoint bignot then flipping slade who has completely ripped us apart, he has copulated us over big time with the wasters his signed on 2 year deals he didn't have a clue Wilkinson is just as bad imo.

It they is any trouble makers sack the twits they don't deserve to play for us anymore, hopefully most of them don't at the end of the season anyway. Utm

I thought nowadays players might have an idea themselves what to eat and drink to be at their best and ask if they're not getting the guidance they need.

WTF we are 38 games into a season and a new manger comes and has to start giving out nutrition plans. These are supposed to be professional athletes.

I am so angry at Slade, this sort of thing beggars belief.

This is the poorest squad in all my time watching Town (over 40 years), and this must be the worst bunch of strikers we must have ever had. Normally you have one jewel who'll grab you at least a dozen goals a season, the six or so strikers we have on the books will do well to score a dozen between them all season.....this current team would almost certainly be competing in the bottom half of the conference.

If we survive keep 2 or maybe 3 of these current big babies absolute disgrace our club is right now and if im honest i cant see us staying up with this lot .

Imagine pearson or dizza being captain of this lot , they wouldnt last five minutes with there pathetic toxic attitude.

We are in big big trouble and thats just on the playing side.

A captain should normally keep trouble makers quiet but who do we have? An anonomous player who is always anonomous on the pitch and shouldn't even be on the pitch. I hope he's anonomous next season.

Odd you should say that as my main criticism of him has been his poor fitness! Tends to be blowing out his backside after an hour and rarely affects the game in the second half (but for clumsy challenges!).

A big disappointment to me this season whether or not there is any truth about him being lazy/disliked.

If you're a player who watches your most experienced player wearing the captain's armband and gifting the opposition goals week in week out while barking out orders elsewhere, there can't be a more draining influence on morale than that. In all the teams I've played in there's always been a little moaning biatch or two in the dressing room, it's part and parcel unfortunately, especially when you're losing. When you're watching your two centre halves dropping so deep because they're scared of a foot race and are culpable for goal after goal, that's a far greater problem to deal with. And if you're one of those players like Dembele and Mills who aren't getting picked or DJ,McCallister and Osbourne who are so undercooked match fitness wise that they can't be at their best on the pitch at this stage of the season, you could understand their frustration and disbelief when the same characters making the same mistakes and creating the same negative impacts on team play every week keep getting picked..

Yeah right, Omar, Padraig, Shaun and Craig hated us all so much..

You're close to the club right Pouton? You epitomise EVERYTHING that is wrong at the club. The owners of the club haven't got a clue how to inspire or run a successful football club so they do their best to vilify the fans to try and deflect their responsibilities.

This club is in tatters and the fans get the blame. It's disgusting to think that you're close to the club and go on a message board to rile up and try to belittle the same fans whose money prop up the same football club. I can't wait for the day when the Fenty inner circle are nowhere near the boardroom of this club. You're just a bunch of classless clueless idiots..

People are venting their frustrations so I don't see how it is counterproductive, no matter what Town fans do we can't get this team going, we can't stop certain key players from making mistake after mistake costing us valuable points. The only person I believe maybe effected is JF and his ego, who through his total control of the club has lead us a not so merry dance around the bottom of league 2 watching some of the worst players ever to wear the shirt. No true fan would allow the club to rot like this.

Must take you task on that one.....thats an urban myth ...Conlon never once "didnt bother" to turn up for training, any occassions he missed training were due to being in police custody or being so hungover he forgot what day it was. For all his woes though he still could score a goal and that pretty much kept us up in his first season.

I think his GTFC record was 10 goals in 24 games.  Figures that Vernon,Matt, Hooper can only dream about

Rose certainly looks the laziest for sure.

if I was MJ, I would most certainly want my own number two in there. Someone that I could trust and watch my back.

The full bench needs a good clear out in the summer.

If this is true (I take the OP and his source at their word) then surely the club needs to act and remove the player immediately, whether by firing them, putting them on gardening leave or whatever.

Most of us will have been in organisations with destructive individuals and it can really drag down a group.  MJ will be aware of this from his time in business and being around Premier League clubs working with young players.  Attitude will be everything.  If someone's not shaping up, get him out.
