So this could be 18 games without a win well what do we expect when we for some mad reason no matter who is in charge play

Berrrett
Woolford
Matt
Clarke
Collins
Davies

Clifton can be excused today but sorry this team is diabolical.

Im sorry but im sick of hearing mcallister is fit and if needed will play him well play him , this team has nothing no quality no balls absolutely nothing about them .

Embarrassing and pathetic first half who some might think im being harsh but if you pick them players as above you will get nowt , jolley needs to figure that a midfield of berrett and woolford is not good enough .

Absolutely fuming and please lets not make excuses , jolley needs to take some of the flak today with that selection.

If we do go down this season, Fenty will be even more culpable than last time. At least last time, we tried to strengthen in the transfer window - the players signed just weren't good enough. This time, Fenty obviously thought we were far enough ahead of relegation to be safe and got rid of some of our more skilful players to cut the wage bill.

Could prove to be his worst misjudgement yet.

To be fair, I think we all need to manage our expectations of what was going to happen today against a well-drilled agricultural Lincoln team.  We all know what Lincoln are going to do: work us with the long ball and set plays.  Sadly we are as brittle as a rich tea biscuit at the back.

Jolley has got nothing to work with in this urine poor squad, that can't defend and is toothless upfront.

The fact is that any result at Lincoln was always going to be a bonus, it's the games at home versus Barnet and Chesterfield that will decide our fate.

A pity that neither Dembele or Jaiyesimi is particularly quick, then. I'd judge that Hall-Johnson is faster than either of them.

Not necessarily disagreeing that these two shouldn't be thrown on, however, but it wouldn't be to add much in the way of pace.

We are a team in free fall. Lincoln are a team chasing the play offs. The Cowleys are established at Lincoln playing their own players. Jolley is 3 games in with failed managers cast offs. Lincoln are now a progressive club with investment. We are stuck in the past with the Poundland mentality.

Come on, we shouldnt expect much more at the moment and Jolley should not receive any of the blame! If we stay up, we will scrape it. Lets stick together and help the team over the line. Then we can make the neccessary changes. In the board and the team  ;)

I tend to agree. This squad is hopelessly below par. Great coaching and tactics won't make up the deficiencies in talent and attitude. I can't help thinking that we might do better if we avoided picking Woolford, Clarke, Berrett etc but what do I know?

I think only the truly ignorant will be all over him if we end up nosediving this season. He was given an unenviable task and really we were never going to land a massive scalp in terms of a manager, given our position, squad, etc.

How can you blame M.J. for this debacle he has inherited one of the worse squads in this league. Add the fact he has to hit the ground running and has a handful of games to prevent relegation the odds are massively stacked against him.

The blame lays squarely in the boardroom with their LACK of ANY PROACTIVE REACTION TO OUR DEEPENING PLIGHT UNTIL AFTER JANUARY.

Out of all the constants they alone have been there, instrumental in our decline.

This is also what I'm failing to understand. Do people just have a hard time accepting the reality they see before them? Of course I hoped our new manager could somehow perform miracles with the sub-par and injury laden squad that we have but it was clearly never going to happen. I had ZERO expectation of a result today. I'm not saying that because I want our club to lose. And I desperately DO NOT want us to go down. But surely, you have to set your expectations accordingly. Indeed. It's delusional self-belief that has brought us to this position. John Fenty's delusional self-belief that he knows how to run a football club. The resources at the disposal of this club and we're scrapping at the bottom end of the football league again.

So M.J. has to work out the abilities of his players after JUST ONE GAME?...............................UNBELIEVABLE!!!

....and so it begins.

It's sad that people are already blaming MJ after 2 games...If we lost the first 2 games of the season but would be saying he needs to have time to work out the team. Yes, we don't really have that time, but that is not his fault. He's come here to a team who haven't won in 17 or 18 games... Regardless of whether we stay up or down. We need him for a longer period of time than 2 games to work his magic... Please get real people...

No , the 17 games before without a win might give you a clue that the players who reguarly played aint doing something right.

Do we ever get a new manager bounce? Do we fook, despite changing manager four times in less than two seasons. What an absolute sh1t show this club is.

Ah! the McAllister last seen playing cards with Lord Lucan and never proven he`s fit, the Dembele whos last few games where he has gone from bling to blung and Jaisyemi who has never been a natural first time starter, throw them into a red mist derby hey ho

That’s the thing....we can complain about starting line ups all we like, but the truth is there’s nobody sat on the bench/in the stands that is gonna do any better!

We really need either Jackson or Wilks fit for this run in. Sounded like McSheffrey and Davies both put decent balls in today and there was never anyone attacking the ball.

DJ one goal zero assists this season.  Shuffling deck chairs on the titanic.

Even that took time. After winning his first match we went 8 without a win.

I think the new manager bounce is as much of a myth as the manager of the month curse.

The new manager bounce is a thing when it happens, but is forgotten when it generally doesn't!

I wonder if any owner has ever taken a club out of the football league twice?

Fenty could well be on track to be the worst owner ever!

Has there ever been a chairman / non chairmen to have a team relegated twice out of the football league?

He must have access to all the games we have played and he was at Cambridge and Carlisle, so he must have have a good idea which players are really excrement.

He has managed it 3 times really - only being saved when Luton were deducted points. He thought that was such an achievement he made himself available to be carried from the pitch at Bournemouth in triumph. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.

I do not understand Fenty’s logic.
He is a huge supporter of Grimsby Town and a multi millionaire.
If I was a multi millionaire I would invest like Swan has done at Scunthorpe.
Look where they are now!
Why will Fenty not invest into the club he says he loves!
Instead he is seemingly on a mission to destroy it!
Once again, I just do not understand!

The reason is because right from the time he took over the club his vision was to build Fentydome.
He put the money into GTFC in the hope of making money,  building a new stadium was the only way he could make any.
Now that seems to have died a death he has given up and is hanging on in the hope somebody will buy the club hoping he can recoup some of his very poor investment.
For a man of his alleged wealth a couple of million pounds isn't that much money not when you compare the average salary of a GTFC supporter who has paid week in, week out to watch games, bought merchandise, food and drinks on Matchdays, operation promotion and much more.

But the word is that Swann puts in a least £300k per year, so simple maths is 10 years at least £3 million, at that rate with no chance of ever seeing that money again you would not be a multi millionaire for to long.

Exactly. He thought he could make money (seems laughable now I know) but my guess is that as he got deeper and deeper into the mire he had no choice but to hang on.He gave the club loans rather than investment in the hope he could get them back. The gamble re the loans has failed, and this should not be a bar to the club being sold.

About ten years ago Fenty was quoted as being the 84th richest in English football, source 4,4,2 magazine so he must have over 100 million. Therefore 3 or 4 million is a sound investment and would be no grea5 loss to him if it became a loss.
If he wasn’t such a twit he would invest like ALL other chairmen do.
I have always supported Fenty until this season but now I have decided enough is enough!
He actually is destroying a club he could choose to invest in.
Therefore it is time for him to go.
I would prefer the chuckle brothers, sooty and sweep or the Krankies to be in charge.
They would do a supremely better job of it!

And by the way much as I rate MKeown, I would like to know what the intercourse he was doing with his goal kicks today?
Four went deep into the side stand and after one of them it led to a goal.
Another went weakly and perilously close to their striker.
Basic stuff!
And... why does no one take a chance and shoot from long range!

Just  ??) ??) ??)

Probably only a tenth of that. That's only from hearsay, i have no knowledge, but i doubt he has anywhere near 100 million.

I also very much doubt he is in the same wealth bracket as Swan.

Didn't Fenty's fish Co sell for about £30 million? He wasn't the owner of the whole thing, either, so won't be anywhere near the £100m mark.

I know on RH it was mentioned we rushed him back from his groin injury and he wasn't really fully fit but we were managing his comeback so he could play.  His kicking was the concern they spoke about with it so maybe that's part of the issue?

But we've already got them haven't you seen Fenty and 'Shut up' Marley?

Sadly the days of the local butcher, baker, builder, retired fish filleter running football clubs is the the odd exception, over. The whole business is now more professional (except at BP) and the sooner a consortium from anywhere in the world takes over GTFC the better. I don't care who it is providing they buy John Fenty out it can be IS, the Mafia or The Fourth Reich

10 million is still a lot of money.
If anyone else had 10million they would surely invest 5 million into a football
Club that is a huge part of their lives.
I certainly would!

Not in football it isn't. You could burn through that in no time, with no guarantee of success. Thing is, we don't actually need a big investment, just someone to use the money we generate more wisely. As pointed out in other threads, if Accrington can do it...

Me to if I had a lottery win but I'd have to do it on the quiet - wouldn't want the wife finding out were I'd invested her half :)

As I only listened to the first half today, did Lincoln play a long ball game or are they better than that.
