Arsenal[edit]

Meade was born in Luton, England, and started his career with Sunday league side Bramingham FC.[4] He joined Arsenal in August 2004 at the age of eleven. He started off initially as a left winger before moving into a more defensive role as a left back.[5] During the 2011–12 season he made nineteen appearances for the reserve side, with only Oğuzhan Özyakup and Martin Angha appearing more.[6] In the same season he also appeared on the bench as an unused substitute for Arsenal's first team against Bolton Wanderers in a League Cup fixture.[7]

Meade featured in pre-season friendly matches in advance of the 2012–13 season, including a game against Premier League opposition Southampton.[8] After eight years with the club, he made his first team debut in a dramatic 7–5 extra time victory against Reading in the League Cup fourth round.[9] Meade entered the match as a substitute, replacing the injured Ignasi Miquel in the 105th minute.[9] In the process, he became the 811th player to have played for Arsenal.[10] On 4 December 2012, Meade made his first start for Arsenal in a Champions League game against Olympiacos, where he was deployed at left back.[11] The match ended in a 2–1 defeat for Arsenal with Meade being replaced late on by Martin Angha.[12] His contract with Arsenal expired at the end of 2012–13 season and, on 20 May 2013, it was announced that Meade would not be offered a new contract and would be released to find another club.[13]

Swansea[edit]

On 16 July 2013, he agreed a deal to join Premier League side Swansea City on a one-year contract.[5] He played regularly for Swansea's Under-21 side in the Professional Development League during the first half of the 2013–14 season.[14]

On 28 January 2014, Meade joined his hometown club Luton Town on loan for the remainder of the 2013–14 season.[14] He did not feature for Luton's first-team during his time at the club, appearing only in development squad games, with manager John Still stating that he "would have liked to have seen [Meade] do a bit better".[15]

Meade was released by Swansea in May 2014.[16]

He then moved to St Albans City, being signed from Spartan South Midlands Football League side Hadley in November 2015.[17]

On 9 February 2016, Meade joined Swedish Superettan side AFC Eskilstuna.[18]

So what he was on the books at 2 premier league clubs and played in Sweden's top flight. People drop into non league for many reasons.

He would be an improvement on Dixon if he can breathe and both his legs work.

Was highly rated as a youngster although attitude problems were always cited as reasons why he hasn't made it so far.. maybe with age he's matured?

Shaun Pearson has played the majority of his career in non-league and most on here would have him back... if we do sign him let's give him a chance before writing him off.

Watched 3 or videos of him on YouTube (yes I know they make everybody look good) but he clearly has a touch of pace, likes to get forward it seems, showed some good timing in a challenge and good awareness when defending.

We'll see but I had hoped Jolley might not look to import any of his relegated Swedish squad (this bloke wasn't even in their squad for 6 of the last 9 games)

With all his so called contacts through Burnley etc I hope he will aim a bit higher than those who have starred in the Spartans South Midlands League. I know he can't swoop for Burnley U23 rejects or promising youngsters on loan at the moment as the window is closed but if he is going to build a new squad he needs to aim a little higher than this

Incidentally I don't see the point in bringing in another new bloke who doesn't even know his team mates names at this stage - Jolley needs to turn around the lot hes got - and quick

Yeah, they do.

I remember looking at Hooper and Kelly in the summer and think they was both going to be class  :o

Can he find a Swedish goalscrounger from somewhere? That’s what’s needed more than anything.

I do not judge a player if I have not seen him play myself,

BUT

Dixon has played for Scotland and he is crap,

I think Jolley knows if this player is good enough,

Maybe he is seeing if he is fit enough as the Swedes are close season at the moment.

So what do you see as positive in having this bloke training with us? Will he keep us up? Will he even cut it in the National League next season?

To be fair even if he is crap he might make Dixon work a little harder. By the sounds of it he has had personal issues. If it's a mentality issue rather than talent then he may be more mature now and he may be a rough diamond.

The positives I see, could providing the story is true of course, is that our left side has been a weak area all season and e new manager has clearly identified that and  looking to address it early. This lad is young and if nothing else will offer what we've bed badly lacking for some time, then we a defender with pace.

I actually try to see a positive in most things but you're are obviously a glass half empty kind of guy. This is a time where most fans are trying to pull together and help the time get over the line hut you seem intent of pouring misery over every single topic at the moment. You really must live a life completely devoid of happiness and joy, I imagine you're the sort of guy shouting at kids playing football down the street because they're 'making a noise' and the ball once came within 50 feet of your front garden!

You wanted Askey as manager, correct? So I put your questions back at you? Would he have kept us up? Would he have been successful. In the National League next season (potentially) with a completely different set of players?

Everything is a gamble or a risk!

We can do without your constant bile and negativity! Smile, go out, get drunk, get laid.... Do something that might actually bring a smile to your face you miserable sod!

Firstly it appears its not true thank goodness

Secondly if you had suffered as many disappointments as me over Grimsby Town you would find it difficult to be positive, the ridiculous rose tinted spectacles brigade need to wake up and smell the coffee. As for the fans pulling together to help its a shame so many swore never to go to a match again just a few weeks ago because they didn't like the manager, didn't 'pull together' then did they? Some even abused the players.

Totally incorrect I did not want Askey at all please check your facts, I wanted Paul Harsley from Barnsley who has played over 450 Football League matches who I think would have kept us up and who would have been ideal for next season if we were in the National League

I'll get drunk when Town are safe from relegation, not before. Until then I am worried. I'm concerned the new man talks a good job, I have major concerns that he can deliver

I mean, it's not like there's ever been anyone down there to start rumours

Serious question - do you think Jolley or indeed any manager could turn Dixon, Hooper, Kelly or Hooper around?

Hooper hasn't looked too bad when i have seen him. I think there might be a decent footballer in there somewhere. He hasnt had much of a run and the service to him has been non existent. (Apart from hoofs)

I'm certainly hoping he can turn things round with the current squad, whether he manages to motivate and / or improve the performance of those four remains to be seen. I don't see bringing in yet more strangers on loan will make that much difference, in fact its been part of the problem IMO. I'm looking for him to change things with what we have  be it by line-up, tactics or simply bottom kicking I don't care

* One he doesn't have to turn round as he's injured so that just leaves 3 of the 4 you mention, mind you I would add to that Matt, Dembele (who we desperately need to return to earlier form) in fact virtually all of 'em need turning without bringing in and assimilating more new faces
