Nothing the club can do here this is more management than ownership.  Dont forget JF doesn't interfere in the team.

Best central midfielder in the stands while one of the worst makes the eleven every week.

Sam Jones our arguably best striker sold for pittance and our most creative midfielder who seems to be getting man of the match nearly every game again let go .

Journey man players get a shirt whilst young upcoming talent don't get a sniff .

These are the type of decisions what make the fans angry and which drives an even bigger in what is an already big wedge between the fans and the club.

Makes me realise wilko is part of the problem even more.

If anyone can justify how based upon form since Christmas James Berret should be picked ahead of a fit McAlister or Harry Clifton I’d love to hear it.

Summerfield has done well this season but at times through no fault of his own has been a busy fool clearing up the f&@k ups of others.

We need fresh ideas and energy in the mid field and at least one of them to make some forward runs into the box.

When Summerfield is your best midfielder you know your in the excrement , I know he’s improved and put decent shifts in but no where near the level required for a successful team at the right end of the table.  McAlister and Clifton should both be involved  at some point tomorrow and Berrett should never put the famous black and white shirt on again imo

I would think someone from Woods,Moore,Wilko would sit down for a coffee with young Clifton and tell him that CM role is yours for the taking .I don`t wish to bash Berrett or Summerfield but surely they must see a change in that area is urgently required?

It's about time Clifton did get game time as from next season all football league clubs must name an home grown player in their squad of 18, if they can't they can only have 6 on the bench.

Lets hope that's an issue!

And the season after that it goes to 2 homegrown players in the squad. Or you lose a sub spot for each one of those two you don't use for a homegrown player.

So in a couple of years if we're not giving our own academy graduates a chance we'll only be naming 5 subs on a Saturday.

20 mins with Buckley or one of the 3 ex Town players on the staff he would run through a brick wall for the cause.AB was rightly disgusted at Clifton`s treatment the other week courtesy of Slade. Buckley`s time has been and gone but the bloke knows football inside out and what makes players tick especially young players.Neil Woods is another he gets these players ready it must be soul destroying that Manager`s won`t then give them a game and justify the youth team. These youngsters need game time anyone with a left foot in the Youth set up should be hammering on Wilko`s door demanding to play Left Back and if Woods et al are saying they haven`t got a player capable of doing better than Dixon their position needs looking at.Cardwell looked a unit the fleeting glimpse I caught of him early doors and nothing I have seen from the 3-4 guys favoured instead of suggest they are any better?

More than anything else, having local players in the first team galvanises the fans. I well remember the Jimmy Lumby effect 40 years back now when his goalscoring doubled the crowds at BP. Ditto the great Town team of slightly later with 4 or 5 locals playing regularly at times.

A local player can usually get an extra 1% and that might make all the difference

It wasn't so long ago that we had Bennett, Hegarty, North, Bore and Taylor in our match day squads under Rodger/Buckley.

Now, think what you like about the players as individuals, or the managers that played them, but at that time I felt our youth system was working.

Sadly we only made money on Bennett, but I'm sure we could've got money for North, Bore and Hegarty had we sold them at their peak (and, in the case of Bore, got his head in the right place).

Since then it's been slim pickings. I was a big supporter of Paul Hurst but disagreed with the way he managed Dayle Southwell. The guy scored a hat-trick in a first team game - a sure sign that he had something about him - yet we released him at the end of the season.

What I can say for certain is that there is talent in the local area, but if we're not careful we're going to earn a reputation for not giving young players a chance (in fact I think we already have that reputation).

That needs to change. Blood more young, local players and we might become a more attractive prospect for other young players desperate to make their mark in the game.

Right now the only sort of people we appeal to is your 30-something journeyman who look at GTFC and see £££ before they retire.

My god I hope I'm wrong but

It might not matter you can only name 5 in the conference

I can't see the need to have more than 5 subs anyway, its getting ridiculous. How long before its a full 11?

Four should be enough keeper defender mid and striker

I agree and would love to see him given a chance.

For some reason Wilko, Slade and I think Moore (I might be wrong but from memory I seem to think he put Berrett back in the team last time he was caretaker) see something in Berret and keep picking him.  As has been said before, something needs to change as that CM pairing clearly isn't working and didn't work for York City either.
