A recent team selected from those the fans loved to label poor or didn`t give a fig previously how would they fare against the current squad?

Colgan

Bore Garner Kempson Aswad
Mckreth Boshell Brown Monkhouse
Brodie Conlon

I don't think that many fans hated them.

There is a difference to having the opinion that someone is a poor player to hating them.

Aswad and Brown would both make my team at present

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Peter Bore win the fans' POTS award?

Personally speaking I rated Bore but he got some dreadful stick luckily for him Boshell was in the same team with Clarke they seemed to deflect a bit

Badly let the fans down in fairness Butler should probably have got Conlon`s spot but I hate him that much I didn`t want to name him in any GTFC eleven ;D

He's been discussed to death on here so won't go over old ground

Someone who occasionally showed what a talent he had and then other days he was just not interested.... somewhere something went awry

Even on a bad day though I think he'd shine amongst the current crop

Andy Taylor another local lad did he get a fair go at it ? He was used as sub alot but I'm sure he netted a few

Hockless, Nimmo, Rowan, Clifton, Wright, Corner, Venney, Taylor, Soames, Shahin,I'Anson, etc etc etc ....Danny North and Peter Bore were probably the last two actual local lads to have a sustained run over a few seasons...all the others just glimpses and fringes of the team.

The O.P got me thinking about an alternative outcast squad...much more current and upto date....Outcast Since May 2017 Squad....

Gowling, Dan Jones, Pearson, Boyce,  Gunning, Disley, Chambers, Venney, Clements, Osbourne, Sam Jones, Tombola, Rhys Browne,Asante, Yussuf .........and thats without counting Clifton/ Wright/ McAllister who are virtual outcasts.

Being as you haven`t included a keeper might I suggest Macca seen as Bignut wanted him gone at one point ;D

I considered putting Kean in seeing as though i doubt very much he will darken our bench again. ....but like Hurst i had Pearson in mind to cover the goalkeeper slot  ;)

The mention of Conlon made me realise how dull our current squad is. Nobody with any charisma at all. Will any be remembered in 12 months time?

To be fair, the 11 mentioned on the original thread would walk all over the team of the last few weeks  :-/

Scored 4 or 5 one season off the bench and then started a few games the next season but got scrapped fairly quick when Buckley was gone. I just remember him being very small and skinny. Had pace and obviously could score a couple but after leaving us he couldn't win a contract at York so maybe he just didn't have it in him to play full time league football. York also sent Bore home early funnily enough due to lack of interest during games. I don't remember Taylor being very good when he got a run as a starter. North was better.

I won 'Taylor's match shirt' in a Trust prize draw. Scare quotes because it drowned me!

Might as well have Cardwell in all those teams
