Which 2 do you leave out of the matchday squad.

We now have 7 loan players and you can only name 5 in your match day squad.  So who do you leave out?

Matt
Wilks
Kean
Vernam
Jackson
Jayesymi
Suliman

Makes you think did RS know this before he signed them?

I'd imagine Suliman will appear in the squad next game, but then will be out once Osborne has completed his suspension. Won't see him again unless he's really good in training or one of the 3 centre-halves gets injured.

Out of the others, I'd probably drop Kean as I don't think he's looked any better than Killip. Just hope that as few errors as possible are made before McKeown gets back fit again.

🙈Past caring now. So many loan signings. Id play 5 in the starting team they cannot do any worse. Leave out keeper and new stellar striker signing from walsall.  Roll on end of season.

Kean for sure, then a striker. Slade will leave out DJ because he is clueless.

Keeper....and the 2nd one dependant on the system we play.

As someone else mentioned on another thread, Jaiyesimi doesn't fit into a 352 really.

But then would you have him on the bench as an option to change formation? Horses for courses I guess. We'd probably all do something different.

I believe you can make a loan deal permanent even after the transfer window has shut- Newcastle signed a loanee on a 5 year contract in October. Matt is out of contract at Blackpool at the end of the season so I wouldn't be surprised if his loan isn't made permanent (hopefully only until the end of this season). Possibly the same could be done with Jake Kean? I doubt either are likely to get a new deal at their respective clubs for next season.

No idea to be honest. Don't we pay a management team to make those decisions?

Ah!..........

I would definitely not want to sign Kean on a permanent basis. I suppose if it was just until the end of the season and he was due to stay until then in any case, then fair enough, but I don't want to see him here after the summer.

Or, Slade's so out of touch with things, he doesn't realise this rule and names all 7 and we get points deducted!!  ??)

Send Kean back and sign Matt till eos if possible.

Can't sign Matt, he is contracted to Blackpool.

I'm beginning to think that we maybe didn't know we would get Jackson in and that is why we brought in Wilks, so i think he will maybe be a bit part player. Can't think why else we would bring in three strikers in one window otherwise.

Just watched the interview with Jackson, roughly quoted

'What has the manager said to you'

'Hes told me we are dominating games but just not managing to put the games to bed,'  Poor Simeon he hasn't a clue what hes coming into ;D

We are playing shiite but to be fair it sounded like we should've been out of sight at Colchester at half-time (only one game though).

Either ill or injured, can't remember which.

I think Slade does have a bit of a point about dominating and not scoring. It was definitely the case at Colchester and has happened in few games in the first half particularly, although not so much lately. Other teams are not exactly ripping us apart, but they are scoring from their chances. We didn't create a lot against Luton, but they didn't create much either. I'm not saying we are dominating games, but when we are on top, we don't score.

I think we have played some decent football in patches, but if you don't score, that is all anyone takes away from the game. Still think our problems are in midfield though. They don't create much at all and don't chip in with goals. We now have too many strikers, when we should have been targeting a good midfield player or two. The balance of the squad is all wrong.

Norwich will be concerned if DJ is not in the squad. Think he has a 4 year contract and they want him developing.
Kean and rest Matt.

In Kean's last home performance (a defeat against somebody or other - there have been so many, I can't remember who), it looked to me as though he was a bit crocked in the second half as he was really struggling to kick. Can't say I thought his absence made much of a difference one way or the other.

Out of contract  players can still be signed outside the window  I believe,  Cheltenham manager looking to sign a couple in the next fortnight

Out of contract players can. All of our loanees have contracts elsewhere.

Because Slade thought he was a really good player before he signed him,

Then like most others Slade found he wasn't.

Just a thought. .

SO!  can we  still sign another player who has no contract anywhere whose club  free, as we did with Collins?

Yes, and players have been known to be released by clubs early, so they can sign for another team. That's how it used to be anyway, think it still is.

The standard of players who are unemployed in February are probably a good fit* for GTFC.

As long as they were released when the transfer window was open, yes. If someone got released today we wouldn't be able to sign them.

Which is stupidly ridiculous because it's not a transfer. I can see why they do it though. I thought i had heard of players being released early outside of the window, just so they could sign for someone else as a free agent, but obviously that can't happen now, though i think it has happened in the past. Probably why they have that rule.
