I don't know who would play in his place but I think he needs a rest. In fact he was almost in tears in the second half and Osborne and the Summerfield put their arms round him to console him. He is desperate to do well and keeps trying. He took a lot of knocks on Sat, but still got on with it. He has played a lot of games and next Sat may be the time to give him a break. Continuing with him may destroy his confidence, maybe save him for the last 30 mins

We were told on Friday he hasn't trained all week with a hip injury, then goes on to play the full 90 despite hanging out his bottom for most of the game.

The lad is shattered and probably drained by the expectation on him.  He needs a few weeks off to recover but also take stock of a whirlwind 6 months.

Clifton would do a fine job coming in to replace him, or indeed Max Wright out at Scarborough.

Is Clifton not a central midfielder?
Max Wright is a good shout though.

We were saying the same yesterday. I think there are too many hopes being placed on his shoulders and he just isn't creating or scoring at all. Maybe it's time Slade stopped being deluded about looking up the league and tightened up the side to make sure we don't slip any further.

I think that Reece Hall Johnson is at the end of his 3 month loan about now. Maybe get him back to play right back and move Mills forward? Despite having a huge squad, i'm really struggling to think of any options we have.

He was our best player 2nd half.  Put 3 or 4 great crosses in that nobody got on the end of. I know people are saying he needs a rest but I've been impressed with how strongly he's finished the last two games. It's been him in the second half getting on the ball and trying to make things happen. He will link well with Vernam, but he's let down by the movement and ability of others.

Not training all week due to injury and still being made to play 90 minutes on a Saturday never did Michael Reddy any harm when Slade was here last time. Oh, hang on....

Lets play with a 3 man midfield, Rose, Summerfield and Jones and strat 3 strikers up front and give him a rest for a week or use him as n impact sub.
