Whilst I appreciate the situation that we are in may be quite difficult to remove in an instant, due to financial implications involved but you really do have to take stock and act now John.

The medium of Social media has gone in to hysteria about the situation that we are in right now. Yes, I agree it’s probably made worse because of this but it is clear that you are ‘losing those faithful fans’ far quicker than you are encouraging any new ones. Basic Maths will tell you that, unless you act now, ST sales for 2018/19 are going to be drastically lower, if not a new LOW record. This is not a good place to be for the future of this Club.

Looking back on the Club, Team and fan base from just over 12 months ago, this ‘community spirit’ has all but gone. It breaks my heart to learn of fans staying away or throwing away STs, Fans that have supported Town for 2,3,4,5,6 Decades. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, Stop the rot now.

For the first time in a long time, the fans are unanimous. Slade has to go!!  There is no reason that this situation cannot be turned on it’s head and put a positive spin on things as we recommence the building process. Mini ST for 4 games etc etc for Operation rebuild.

Don’t rush into a New Manager just because of the Transfer Window. Dave Moore will steer the Good Ship Mariner until such time that the right candidate is selected. One thing I do believe is that this group of players ARE good enough to get some resilts, with the correct Motivation.

UTM!!

Let’s get rid and put the ‘Mighty’ back in Mariners again.

With a squad the size of ours, Dave Moore is far too busy as a physio to take on a caretaker manager role 😂😂

should go back to 442 or 433 basic football rather than stupid formations

Slade did say we were going back to basics. Not sure quite what it meant when he said it and even more confused after our game yesterday, the first to (possibly) utilise this new approahc? I've a feeling he was just saying the first thing that came into his head, interviews are becoming ever more prickly and insipid but unavoidable by the Management, I just wonder how the team talk in the dressing room is received.

How much do you reckon we have lost in the last 2 home games?

So I saw something in here saying the average salary at a L2 player is £45k.

So 17 players in the squad on the day, the wider squad members playing/non playing staff etc... I would imagine that the wage bill is in excess of £30k per week minimum and that’s without NI/Pens/insurance etc...

We have what 2800 STH? if 20% of them didn’t show up yesterday that leaves the club selling under 1,000 tickets tops and I’m being optimistic which would indicate we are losing at least 10K minimum a game when the gates are so low.

What do you do p1ss gate money away or pay off a manager and his assistant? The latter can be easily replaced getting people back to BP will be an even bigger challenge.

Come on John you know what’s best for the club in the short, medium and long term.

When I saw Vernon and Woolford in the starting line up yesterday I nearly decided to go home. I really wish that I had

Whats the point? Until Fenty goes we are always going to be held back. There is a track record of abject failure in every aspect of running the club.

Yes a new manager would give us a short term boost, but in the great scheme of things, what good is that? What if half the fans don't like the choice of the new manager? In actual fact the only thing I don't blame Fenty for is the choice of managers, barring Woods and Rodger. It is a gamble to ever get the right man, but it is what happens after his appointment is the problem. When we get a decent manager we manage to alienate them, until the whole dreary business starts again.

It is hard to see Slade recovering from here, but I see no chance at all of a leopard (Fenty) changing his spots. He is one of those infuriating people who think by saying the right things will make it happen.

We need new owners and a new manager to work in tandem, but until that day comes we will just keep bumbling along, sadly.

It's alright - and I agree with you, by the way - wanting to sack Slade, but he's not the main problem, is he?

Problem is he'd need to be paid off to cancel his contract and we don't know what his contract contains. It all comes down to money when it comes to getting rid of one manager and bringing in another. We just did this last season. Slade was a mistake but both of them are probably planning to ride out the season and hope for the best. Slade likely plans to resign if we get relegated.

As long as this mess carries on and we keep changing managers, having too big a squad and falling down the league it'll become harder and harder to attract the players we need and we already can't afford them as it is. Nobody wants to play for us even the players we have. Does anyone really know what's best for the club anymore?

Short Term

Sack Slade
Appoint someone else to make the football decisions
Put the club openly up for sale
Accept your decisions have affected the value of your "investment"
Ask the right amount for a club that on paper is at least £1/2m in debt
Sell the club as soon as possible on better terms for the investor than have been requested

Medium Term

Watch the games as a fan

Long Term

Watch the games as a fan

Yep, gets my vote as well. I’d also consider if he could survive another relegation from the football league, would he have the drive to do that again? I can see it coming, I really can and I despair.

Just go John, please for all of our sakes. Yours as well.

At the end of the day John's pretty much made a complete hash of things and he's not likely to suddenly start getting things right after all this time. Slade was a completely terrible choice for a manager because of his past at the club and because his method (can't bring myself to say style) of statistics based football is a) boring beyond belief, b) outdated and c) hugely unpopular. Oh, and it doesn't work. Having said that I do feel slightly sorry for John as Slade was probably seen, even by those who can't stand him myself included, that he was a safe pair of hands. The addition of Wilko gave further belief that we could get things back on an even keel and give a firm base for the future of the club. However, it just hasn't happened at all so things are worse, much worse than most would have thought possible. In fact it's all been an unmitigated disaster and we are deep deep in the brown stuff. Some thing's got to give and it's got to give NOW. Tick tock John, tick tock.  :o

When we last went down to non league, he talked a good game and did nowt. He kept Woods as manager for a start, and never provided us with enough investment to get the best players even at that level. You only need to see where we finished in the non league table each season to see that.

He never has had any drive in the important areas of manager and player recruitment; or fan engagement, or PR or anything else for that matter, so yes I agree that Fenty should call it a day, and accept he will have to lose some of his money for the good of the club. He won't of course, and therein lies the problem.

Dear Mr Fenty, people would respect you far more if you would hold up your hands and acknowledge you had made a mistake in appointing Slade.

Instead you keep denying  the undeniable and as a result, alienating a significant proportion of your paying customers.

Time to bite the bullet acknowledge Slade was the wrong person, and starting working with the fans to make this club great again. There is more accumulated knowledge (both football and non football) amongst the fanbase than the so called advisors you are relying upon.
