John - Time for that apathy to stop here's your to do list that needs to be completed by the end of Jan so you better crack on,

1 - Get rid of Slade tomorrow
2 - Replace him with someone with infectious energy
3 - Get rid of Wilco
4 - Replace Wilco with an experienced coach who can string a sentence together in answer to a question
5  - Allow them to spend the salaries of Osborne & Tom B to bring in a couple of young enthusiastic strikers, U23's if need be.
6  - Spend what we can in the window & get the Dembelle extension done now
7  - Bring Mighty back & buy Dave Moore a new cap
8  - Make it kids for a quid for the rest of the season, they'll be plenty of space if you don't do point 1 and 2 BTW
9  - Give kids who are STH a free program every game as well as a £20 shop voucher, before you launch the sale.
10 - Take Dave Smith to consultation then sack him as we should be making more money commercially even in our state
11 - Bring in an experienced commercial manager who has done the job professionally and successfully before
12 - Get the players to train at senior schools occasionally like they used to, great engagement
13 - Get the players in the primary schools like Alec King used to, great engagement
14 - Get the players in the factories, sleeves rolled up for an hour or so, this and the above 2 points worked before and will work again.
15 - Give Steve Wraith some appearance and customer service KPI's for him his office and his team.
16 - Allow the Trust to do more, now!
17 - Add a couple of non exec's to the board, (ideally not Tories) who have done something similar at a pro/semi pro sports club away from the area and can add fresh ideas
18 - Don't put up the price of season tickets and create incentives for kids and pensioners
19 - Get Chris Clements to a Royal Marines fitness boot camp on the understanding if he does not get fit we'll terminate his contract.
20 - Stitch this mantra to the shirts and all our club branding "we can so we do" at least it will let people know what your about.

Some of the above will be painful, some of the above will cost a bit of money, some of the above won't, all of the above could be done if you and the 2 muppets sat next to you at the fans forum really wanted to.

If you read this we'll accept that you agree to it all and expect it done by Jan 31st when you can report back your successes to the executive board of The Fishy copying us all in.

Good Luck!

21 - Sack Ian Fleming and employ HertsGTFC as new Chief Exec as this list should have been written by the chief exec many moons ago.

5.  In the small hope that nothing has been finalised, keep, seeing if a new manager can get more out of them.

Jesus, it's one dinosaur after another on the payroll at GTFC.

Must be a good twenty years since she's had any success..

But she might be more inspiring than Slade.

:) :) :) :)

You think we'd have a "smooth operator" on our hands but no.

Corrected, I'm a bit dyslexic (honestly) so often miss bits out.

Genuinely best post ever by you, I wish I could give it two ticks instead of one. The sad thing though is Fenty isn't interested in your opinion as he believes he is doing right and we just need a bit of football fortune.

Finding it hard to disagree with any of it though

I'm really not at all sure how Dave Smith is in the firing line especially without any evidence merely a glib pronouncement that we should be making more money commercially. I've seen close at hand and indeed worked with Dave on a few Trust related bits and in my view he does an absolutely outstanding job.
Another example of someone being a victim of the Open Season on all employees of GTFC.
Poor Hearts thought you were much better than this...

Ian, what was the commercial income as a percentage of the turnover last year versus other clubs? Start with that and then break it down into commercial, retail, catering etc.. then look at the margins, how strong are they? How much margin do we p1ss away when we sell off all that stock in the club shop each April? Do we re-negotiate our replica kit supply margin each season or just go with what we have always had.

Who owns the catering the club or is it franchised with the franchise being based upon turnover rather than a fixed fee or do we operate a joint venture partnership with these people?

What happens at BP on non match days? How are we using the playing squad to promote interest in the club etc.. etc.. etc.. My point was not a personal dig at a Wembley Hero but we need new ideas throughout and you can always make more commercial income on the back of them. As someone who works in a commercial world it's obvious to a blind man.

As for glib comments look behind the table at the fans forum you'll have seen many more than I can ever come up with.

And to add............ Yes just my personal opinion which £340 PA as a STH and like many on here paying much more to GTFC both directly and indirectly gives me the right to express I feel that jobs for the boys at BP needs to stop both on and off the field as there is better talent at the other end of the M180.
