I'm up early because i am full of cold and can't stop coughing and sneezing. Thought i would tune into the cricket to see how the other sporting love of my life are doing and typically, they are not just losing, they are getting totally annihilated. Add in the lifelong failure of the England football team and i don't know why i bother with sport anymore. It's just endless misery and frustration.

Good morning all BTW.

these players out in oz look like their holiday .. as for Slade I think Fenty will read the fishy all day to day and then realise the product isnโ€™t devalued itโ€™s fooked and hoofball man and his dreary companion will be gone Monday. Then the outstanding candidate Neil woods gets the job , the reason I say this our club never seem to learn from past mistakes we repeat them

Currently drinking a coffee out of a black Le Creuset mug with a white interior thinking of what Monday will bring and trying to come up with a plan to fix Fentys mess.

Hope the man himself is doing something similar ๐Ÿ˜

On my second one now. Shouldn't have gone to the game yesterday, it was effing freezing in the Upper and i was shivering for most of the match. I never learn.

My brother gave up on dry January after watching yesterday's 'efforts' and said he needed to go for a pint.  :(

Is Slade still at the club?

All so bloody predictable wasn't it Ginny. When they announced that squad for the Ashes without say Plunkett, Rashid, Hales etc, on that day, you sort of just knew it was going to end like this. Hopefully it's the last we see of Bayliss, but then again, I don't trust Strauss to pick the right replacement.. Different team same thought process eh?

So that's GTFC and England cricket fooked then. Looks like it has to be Gareth Southgate who takes up the mantle of our biggest hope for success.. That should cheer you up a bit..

Could get worse if Shrewsbury's crew of ex-Mariners beat West Ham later.

Anyone win the lottery last night??

Was a bit of a crazy night on here last night. Just been looking through a few threads this morning and I can honestly say that pretty much 99% of the posts weren't an overreaction. Let's hope the powers that be take everything on board and take a good look at themselves, fully appreciate the mess we are in and realise radical action needs to be taken. I know following a football team can be tough at times but the past decade and a half has been tantamount to sustained torture. It was sad to read some of the posts again, real heartfelt pain in every word from fans that truly care but are at the end of their tether, not just with Slade, with everything. Let's hope we've reached a tipping point where it's the beginning of the end of an era. I'm hopeful, but not too confident that it will be the case. Fingers crossed..

A Lucky Dip ticket? That should be enough at the minute.

Watching the F.A. cup highlights thinking how nice it would have been not to have the misery of our league to worry about.

Feeling as low as I did when I went to Tranmere/Burton years ago.

Yep, it's the final straw for me. Being OLE'ed by 50 Morecambe fans is about as low as it gets. Slade is a charlatan, going from club to club, getting job after job and winning nothing, ever. Football is full of people like Slade and Chairmen keep employing them for some reason. Not only that, the fact that JF wouldn't discuss his contract tells me that he is probably on way more money than any manager in our history.

I have just watched the press conference from when he was announced and JF said he was "tickled pink" to get his man. Well you should now be seeing red John, because you were conned by a smooth talking salesman once again. It struck me in that interview how so much bad stuff was glossed over. No talk of his contract was allowed, no talk of his failure at his past few clubs, no talk of his departure last time he was here and much talk of all the "near misses" he has had in his career.

I didn't want him back but somehow i was stupid enough to buy another season ticket, but that's it from me until he is gone. John, do you remember when we beat Mansfield last season and you made a beeline for my seat and said, "not bad this Sladeball is it"? What have you got to say now we have failed to score in 10 (yes 10) of our last 15 games?

Probably that it's our fault, not his. In an era of king-size fuckups, the appointment of Slade may turn out to be the biggest.

Yep. When we should have employed him, we didn't and went for Woods instead. Now we have brought him in as a saviour at the homosexual end of his not too illustrious career. Always re-active, never pro-active.

Something else i forgot to mention from his press conference was him saying the top 7 was the minimum he expected this season. Tick tock Russ, tick tock.

This season has already gone and another one slides into oblivion. There is always next season and the one after that. I keep believing that but no more. Enough now.

Change the odd name and it all still applies

In hindsight I'm feeling very short changed AGAIN after yesterday. Short changed by the exec, Slade and many of the players who played yesterday.

What p1sses me off is that we spent all that time in non league generating less revenue and trading to improve the side to ultimately take us up.

Once Hurst left the wheels have come off. JF appointed Bignot thinking he was getting a Cowley, we sold Omar and squandered the money, The football all bar the odd game under Bignot was shocking and he destroyed much of the spirit that had taken years to build.

JF sacks Bignot, well done! Then appoints a manager in Slade who many resent for his footballing ethos as much as the way he left. He can't move us forward on the pitch and appears to be casting aside any footballing potential we have in favor of a team of Martin Woolford's

All of the above is old ground but what makes me feel really depressed is that I just can't see a realistic end to this other than more doom and gloom and the of the Newell and Woods era repeating themselves.
