I see Macca made his 350th appearance for us in all competitions, I saw on Facebook that puts him 14th for most appearances for the club, anybody know where a list can be found of the top appearance holders, would be interesting to see how many he is from the top 10.

John McDermott and Tony Ford spring to mind.

As well as hitting 350 he’s in good form at the moment as well to be fair.

That's some achievement to be 14th all time, considering how many players must have passed through this club in the 100 odd years it has been going. He's had his ups and downs but he's the only regular player left from the non league years and seems to have upped his game recently.

Bobby Cumming ahead on 365 appearances.

That's some achievement given the faster turnover of players these days.

Well done Macca.

Still only 28, Keegan said keepers weren't born until they are 30. If he plays until he's 40 he could reach the 1000 mark  :)

This did make me chuckle.

Hats off to him, third clean sheet on the bounce is a nice way to celebrate too.

Does this dispel a Fishy conspiracy from last season in that they did not get on?

He will almost certainly be ninth by the end of the season. Great achievement and he looks back to his best this season.

Not sure about that. The list I put up was just LEAGUE appearances. McKeown's 350 appearances are in all competitions which will include FA Cup and FA Trophy games.

Out of the top 10 I've seen all but one and it has been a privilege to watch these legends during their GTFC career.

That's why I would never make a good keeper. I was born at a young age.

By that theory if I was still playing in goal I'd be unbeatable!! ;D

Is it true that he's made the most saves in our divisions this season?
I've always thought he's been great for us.

Not sure you said that after Swindon's second a few weeks ago. He's alright at this level but we've had several keepers much better than James at BP.

All players make mistakes, the ones a keeper make usually cost a goal. I can accept the odd keeper clanger and they are only on the odd occasion with McKeown. It probably seems that they happen more often because he's played loads of games.

We have had tons of players much better than our current crop, it's still a decent achievement to play 350 games

Just to echo many's thoughts - well done Macca!

Bar swindon he has generally been improved this year i reckon, certianly a top shot-stopper at this level

To be fair, his overall performance against Swindon was pretty good. He did make 2 great saves when the game was 2 all. It was just that one blooper that overshadowed his performance,

He makes a couple of gaffes per season but more than makes up for that with MOTM performances which gain us valuable points. A great achievement in numbers and he has been a good servant to this Club over his time.Well done Macca

I still can't call him Macca myself though. For me there is/was only 1 Macca.

Think the lists are missing George Tweedy, possibly our greatest ever keeper. Wiki has him with 347 league apps and 25 cup apps making 372

The list I posted was players with over 350 LEAGUE appearances which is why he wasn't on there.
