Not sure where they got it from and how serious the interest is but HITC Sports understands ..... Crystal Palace and Swansea are among a host of clubs chasing Siriki Dembele.

Hardly a very reliable source and they can't even spell Grimsby correctly. (anger4)

Interesting that the video at the bottom is the most expensive January signings. Would love to see one of ours on there £40m anyone.
Seriously though, if that's a journo he should have learned where and where not to use a ' .
What does "Grimsby's" actually mean.

So there are clubs chaseing him.. hope they are fast lol

Quality journalism and the validity of the source - spurious or real, will only add to the publicity about him. If a load of interest is generated and a silly bid is forthcoming, then well done Town. He's under contract. That's the game. You want him? Bid against others please...stupidly over inflated price, and he goes to Red Bull Leipzig for £14 million.  :P(100)

Even if he was sold in January, we could do a deal where we loan him for the rest of the season.

Sounds more credible than the Woodhouse rumour lol with all the recent headlines Siriki is receiving it's hardly surprising.

I was hoping we could at least get a season out of him hope we get a substantial amount but I am not holding my breath.

what could Town do with £7M?!

The thing is when he does go we Want top money for him the price clubs are paying for players in this day and age is unreal and I do believe this kid can go onto massive things at a top football club with the right people/top coaches around him, credit must also go to slade and Wilko for this the thing is if we had of kept Bogle till the end of the season last season could we have made that final push for the playoffs??? It seemed the season went flat after he went and this could also become the same scenario this time round, dembele has massive ability and potential and takes us forward but whatever happens and if he does go it has to be for the right money UTM

Is this a benign £7m or football fortune

£2 million could be used to set the club free.

Heard it was £6.75m  ;)

Essentially when signing a young player your paying for his potential....so if we said 3 mill and they said 3mill is a lot for a young player then they can do one.  The signing of the player is your gamble not ours.

Just been doing some searching and found the above posted on an internet forum...this rumour must be gaining momentum  ;)

I think this is irresponsible journalism. There's probably some poor midfielder at Swansea (or Palace) worrying about his job now.

I've heard this Chinese multi-mllionaire named 一个是低挂 owner of  the football club  他媽的狗屎洞   in the top league in China is interested .Could be a rumour though  ;).

Oh, A. Link Dlow is a well-known communications business tycoon. He wanted to rename the club after his business and he e-mailed the club secretary to change the name. The secretary queried the name change, 'Are you sure you want to change the name? Can you confirm the name change please?' to which Mr Dlow replied:
'Yes. This is a correct signal.
Now get on with it without delay and no further questions.'

Please don't see this as a Fenty exit strategy even he would not do that I hope.

Yeah right.

Remember when one of the national papers claimed Chelsea were interested in Liam Hearn when he was with us?

If Bogle went for a reputed 750k, who to an extent was a goal scorer does anybody really think Dembele would go for the same amount? Premier league don't even spend below £5 million on a reserve goalkeeper at the moment.

Any offer over 250k Town would have to sell as it would enable 3 quality players to be brought in.

It's far too little given his age and time left on his contract

What is the chance of getting 3 "quality" players for that price? For every quality player, we probably get 2 or 3 average ones. So we'd be lucky to even get one.

I like Dembele a breath of fresh air gets you up off the seat. I have no idea what the going rate is for someone with his lack of experience but vast potential? My point is in Slade`s shoes any fee in excess of 250k assuming he could reinvest the money would see him able to bring in 3 players.
As we have said loads of times numbers wise this squad is way to big but it lacks quality especially in depth typified by the LB position.
I hate us being a selling Club but it`s reality for most lower league clubs these days and you try and stand in a players way these days we all know how it ends.

How many games did a teenage John Oster play before he was a million pound player?

Yes 2 levels above but also player values have exploded over the last 2 decades.

I’d rather we signed one quality player with any money if we sell Dembele. A striker.

Pleased you’re not chief negotiator Micky . If there’s Prem teams in for him we milk them for every last drop we can . Starting bid £2m I’d say .

Every club apart from Chelsea, Man City et al is a selling club, but the price has to be right. There's a lot to play for this season, and next. To cash in cheaply on our most valuable asset would not be good business. This season has hardly been scintillating at BP so far and the board need to have next season's season ticket sales at back of their minds.

It's no surprise that clubs are watching him: the scouting systems big clubs have surely mean that there's barely a half decent young professional footballer who isn't being watched!

If rumours start to become more believable if  I was the club I'd laugh it off and put a statement out saying you'll have to pay X amount to get him (£2m for example) but if anyone offers over £1m realistically we can't say no.
Im doing this based on if this happened THIS January
