You don't normally advertise the question of the week on the main page Rob.

Burning issue.

Don't think he is going anywhere just yet myself.

I am surprised in the match write up on the same page you are advocating Slade to be sacked. We need root and branch reform from top to bottom (especially the top) to have any hope of improving. Slade may well be heading for the sack, but unless we get a new regime in charge we will continue to stagnate.

You normally advocate stability in the management set up; up to 2 weeks ago we were on a long unbeaten run although drawing too many and we are in every game. Bignot clearly needed replacing asap, but I think Slade deserves the season unless things turn horrendous.

I seem to remember Woods giving us I've of our longest unbeaten runs, they just happened to all be draws, and we all know how that season ended.

Yes as a general rule I think managers should be given more chance than many on here but I just don't see any hope with him in charge. I could accept the league position, which is far from terrible, if there were a young, blossoming squad with at least moderate promise and I'd give Slade a chance. But Dembele aside, I don't see it, and most of the best players he inherited. We need a manager on the way up, not a tired warhorse looking for one final payday.

As for the board change, if it happens, it happens. If someone wants to come in with more money than the current regime, then great. I'll vote for it at the AGM if they offer money and stability at least equivalent to what we have now. I don't see why the current regime excludes success since we enjoyed it relatively recently.

If there’s no improvement on Tuesday, I think it’ll be good night nurse. I don’t like to see people sacked as I’ve been on the dole before and it’s not very pleasant 🙄

Should imagine he wouldnt need to sign on now if he became unemplyed. must have had some good payouts from previous sackings.

72% yes so far - way more than I expected.

Tuesday is a massive game. Lose again and we will look like a club in free fall.

Er!   its just a little bit different when you are a football manager with a big pay off

I don't really want to see him sacked, I'd like to see revolution in the boardroom but that is an entirely different matter. I want Russ to do well, I want to be proud of my football team.

What I ask from Slade probably goes against his nature, I don't want to see us kick the ball out for a throw in from kick off, I don't want to see every man back from set pieces, at least when we are a goal down, I don't want to see full backs thumping the ball forward from the half way line.

I don't think I could properly tolerate all of the above, even if we were doing well. I despise this anti football, I'm embarrassed when I see opponents moving the ball around the pitch whilst we pump the ball forward, I wouldn't even mind so much if any of our forwards were particularly quick or good in the air, we aren't winning the second balls, probably because our midfield is sitting in front of our ageing defence and is twenty yards deeper than it should be. I don't see what he's trying to achieve.

Absolutely agree with BP Vicar's excellent post.

It was meant tongue in cheek.

good post. I actually think he's probably quite capable of setting up an exciting side. I think he is just so used to turning out well organised budget aides.

The things that's never made sense to me is, if he was so intent on hoofing it, why didn't he sign a target man. It genuinely concerns me that he was incapable to address this in the summer, and I don't hold out much hope for him making us into anything but relegation candidates.

Matt was signed as a target man, trouble is they are firing in balls that are six inches above his head and he can`t jump
