On behalf of all the young Town players who got a chance to shine . . . .Thank you.

To all those fans who didn't Boycott and could effectively help the collapse of the smaller clubs youth and reserve system which means in theory all those who played last night in the future wouldn't have a club or would be lower down the pyramid playing... Thank you.

There were far more at the FA Youth game on Friday supporting the Mariners of the future (hopefully!)

In this game Emile Powles played the full game

Are any of these youngsters ready to shine in the first team any time soon? I'm sure that's where most of us want to see them shine should they be given the chance, it's been a while though...

You have a valid point, and it must have been demoralising for young players trying to make their mark. The reason I didn't go, however, is that I think it could be the thin end of a wedge which would lead to a continental-type system in  which League Two would be made up of the reserve or under-21 sides of Premiership Clubs, unable to be promoted or relegated,  and clubs such as ourselves would end up back in some sort of Conference set-up.

A lot of people, myself included, thought that boycotting this competition would entail a loss on the night to Town but it turns out that any loss will be met by the league and not the club.

100% agree.

Having a full house moaning and booing as they watched us need a penalty to score against a development team before immediately throwing away the advantage and then ultimately losing a penalty shoot out would have been detrimental to their confidence.

So i am totally behind you on that.   ;)

I assume you attend all youth and reserve games?

What's all the fuss?
If you want to go to a game, go and if you don't then don't. It's as simple as that for me.
Why put a political spin on something that is supposed to take us away from all that crap for a couple of hours.
Pay your money and take your choice

One point that I think we've missed about this competition; if we ring Checkatrade will they be able to recommend a reliable and trustworthy goalscorer?

The club's viewpoint as described by Steve Wraith. Good to see they've got the best interests of the fans at heart. Either that or they just don't get it. I'm with the latter.

Nobody bullied me into not going, I just didn’t want to go (on principle)

I would presume that the clue is in the words 'I think' !!!

It means that we are not all sheep and we make judgements based on our own opinions.
Mine is that Shaun Harvey is a total tw@t.  It doesn't actually say that anywhere (well it probably does on nearly every message board of EFL clubs), but it happens to be what I think.

The reasons I didnt go last night or to any of the fixtures in this competitions are;

The total disregard for the fans shown by The Directors of our club. I as a fan since the early 1960's have never felt so disillusioned and so disconnected from the club. JF has made it clear that in his mind and in his actions we dont matter

Operation promotion gave the club a huge opportunity to build something that would have potentially carried us forward, instead I fear we are going further backwards than ever.

After having several season tickets for  the last 30 years I now seriously doubt they will be renewed next summer without a degree of sensible communication from the top of our club

Dead rubber would not have gone if I had been in town but a choice for individuals this. The kick off post was just looking for trouble to be honest and for me was daft, a more positive outlook needed. 4 points of the playoffs, jumpers for goalposts lovely ..... utm

I didn't go cos I thought the fishy heavy mob would gang up on me and give me loads of red crosses and then I would need counselling for feeling abused and alone  :B ..seriously Mr wraith I like you but what a load of b0ll0cks. I think the majority of town fans are NOT sheep or sheep dogs and are able to form there own opinions.

I am not a sheep. I didn't go because my missus wouldn't let me.

What youngsters only Clifton started. You can't exactly say some of the other players on show (non youngsters) would entice people to part with their cold hard cash for a dead rubber against a development team.
