don't quote me on this at all, but a solihull fan who is a mate with there agent has apparently been told that they will both be returning to solihull on loan, with Asante's up until his contract finishes here, unsure on Osbornes.

Like i say don't take hundred percent truth into this, just sharing something i got told.

Doesn’t surprise me if true. Only thing that is a bit surprising is that that means Slade won’t have had a look at Asante at all. Probably loan the pair out until January and get them back for the 2nd half of the season would be a good option for me. Asante must be a better goalscorer than Vernon or Matt.

I hope not... the fans have started to turn on Mr Slade already....if he does this and dosent give them a chance  the fans will finish him

Would be a shame not to even give Asante a chance to show what he is capable of. Surely a short term loan 28 days get him five or six 90s and then a place in the squad?
Posted by: mimma, October 15, 2017, 6:55pm; Reply: 4
Can't see it myself, but I have been wrong before.

Assante had his injury before we signed him and still looked descent. We then get him sorted only to give him back to the team we bought him off.

Short term loan maybe.

Can't believe that would be true to be honest.

-The only 2 who should be going anywhere are Slade and his understudy

I can only comment on Akwsi. He is fully fit but needs to get match fit.
A number of clubs came in for him to take him on loan. He is going with Solihull Moors who know him and will give him match time he is there till middle of January. He can be called back. The main thing is he will be back for grimsby second half of season. But as everyone knows things can change.

Why can't he get match fit with us - playing reserve games and coming off the bench with increasing amounts of game time? Waste of money sending him out on loan.

You can't slag Wilko off he's one of our own ...... ( actually you can )

I Asante was allowed to leave it would be a travesty we never really seen what he can do.

Osbourne is going nowhere we all know how good a fit Jamie is and he is under contract even Slade is not that dumb.

Clubs a joke. Why cant he stay here and then play.
Posted by: ginnywings, October 15, 2017, 9:26pm; Reply: 12
A month of competitive games with Solihull will get him match fit and sharp quicker than the odd reserve game and fleeting sub appearances surely? Same with Clements at Barrow.

I'm i the only one who thinks this is a good thing?
Posted by: Maringer, October 15, 2017, 9:34pm; Reply: 13
Nope.

I'd disagree with Chaos about it being a waste of money as well, providing Solihull pay some of his wages!

With the best will in the world, I can see why a manager might not want to risk having a half-fit player on the bench when you've only got a certain number of places available. Yesterday we had Matt and Hooper on the bench. I don't think you can really have more than two strikers on there if you're thinking about covering all the bases elsewhere on the pitch.

Would guess they both still live in the midlands so loan moves for both, when fit, makes sense if it is solely to get them match fit. Would not want either to leave permanently.

Think Tom & Clifton would also benefit from regular game time as Slade sure as hell ain't going tonpick them.

Seems a no brainer to let Asante go for a short spell. We only play about 6 reserve games a season and he'd probably manage that in a month in the conference (body dependent).

In an ideal world, he could come back firing and we'd have a line leading frontman who might score a goal every now and again!

Totally agree with your comments. Akwasi would not have got enough game time in at Grimsby.

All the teams that came in for him on a loan basis were willing to cover his wages.
The deal Grimsby have got is a no brainer. It also suits Akwasi who knows the set up at Solihull and will get match fit.

The deal benefits everyone, Except the other teams that wanted him.

Makes sense to me, send him out on loan to a club only one league below in a very competitive division, get him back at the turn of year Hopefully match fit and confident after scoring some goals

Osborne seems to be pretty much regarded by the fans I know as Town`s best player to me if fit he should be in our matchday squad at the very least.Asante not really played but our striking options are not that great so if he can`t shift the current strikers it`s worrying.

We need asante and Osbourne here .

They at least can get on our bench while building fitness up , both them players improve us no doubt And We are crying out for a Jamey Osbourne in the team right now.

What Moosey said.......plus,

I know Saturdays game was boring it surely not that boring that we start threads like this.

Why would Osborne go to back to them he wasn't with them too long and he's better thank playing for a team in the relegation zone in tin pot?

Asante? Chester bound if anywhere I reckon

Reads like its a loan to regain fitness rather than being with a view to a permanent departure.

Hope he comes back fit and firing in the new year.

The guy is coming back from a serious injury/operation. He hasn’t played in a LONG time, and even then he’s still unproven at this level. Going out to get some games at a club local to him, where he knows the set up is absolutely the best way to buil up his fitness and confidence.

If you can’t see the sense in that, then you’re moaning for moanings sake, and looking  for another excuse to have a go at the management set up, imo.

As for Osborne…he’s barely kicked a ball in training yet, but people have managed to get themselves all worked up at Slade because he’s apparently getting rid. Absolutely laughable.

I take it more the lack of goals from our strikers and the team in general are what has got the fans worrying a striker out and a defender in baffling to say the least?

I dont think that a player going out on loan to get fit is the problem here.. no one seems to trust slade .. his past goes before him . and in case you have forgot mr slade  GOALS WIN GAMES

It probably would be sensible apart from the fact we're woefully short of goalscoring talent.

Not sure. It makes sense in one way to get him game time but there's that nagging thought that he's been deemed as not applicable to Sladeball.

a half fit asante and osborne is far better than a fully fit berrett and vernon in my opinion. Painful to watch at the minute is and understatement

What have we got to lose by trying them in the first team? At the moment we look well clear of relegation and most people expect us to finish short of the play-offs. So we have points to play with!
