Who was the guy with JT who didn't seem to know what he was talking about? Did they drag him off the street? He could talk for England but spoke a load of excrement. Why can't we have a professional summerser like Scunny and Hull?

Big Chris was the summariser, he spoke complete and utter sense if you ask me, very balanced and thoughtful.

We pretty much ALWAYS have a 'professional' summariser in Buckley, or other ex pros for away games. I imagine it's not always possible to get an ex pro for away games on a Tues  night, in which case they ask fans who have been heavily involved with the club.

Wah wah why do Scunny and Hull get everything wah wah. Boring.

It was supposed to be Kevin Donovan I think judging by tweets and Chris was asked late if he would do it.

Why is it a wind up? I haven't got a clue who Big Chris is and i thought he lacked the professionalism that we should have on the BBC. So he was just walking by and they grabbed him off the street?

Chris Parker is the former chairman of the Mariners Trust and avid Town fan, he used to be a highly respected poster on here but he stopped about 18 months ago.

I'd rather have Chris than Buckley any time.

Hi, Hot Toddy, How are you? Just received a message from Les that you had enjoyed my support for JT last evening. ;)
Was I dragged off the street? Well nearly. Got a call from Humberside on Monday asking if I could help them out which, as an avid listener you may be aware I do from time time normally at late notice as they know I will be at the majority of games home and away.

Which part of my summary did you think was a load of excrement? I assume you weren't at the game so be interesting how you formed different opinion to me without seeing the action.

In the quest for balance I have received messages across social media who appreciated my comments, some from people who I know and others who I don't. All of then however passed comment together with their names.

I even received a comment from some Accrington fans who said I talked a lot of sense. Now not even I would have gone that far!!

Maybe next time you could look at the radio with the sound turned off if it is so offensive!

There's a limit to how many times you can hear ..."they are better than us.....they are more intelligent than us....they pass it better than we do......pass and move is what i prefer..." even if it is true or not  ;)

I didn't listen last night but from general chats with Chris over the years (although none for quite a long time now) and the odd commentary I have heard him do I think he's as good as anyone. He's never biased and talks a lot of sense. Not to mention has black and white blood.

No I would say his blood is more likely made of gin and beer lol

I never knew BigChris was Chris Parker.  I like Chris's summary says it how it is and true GTFC fan and a fellow fishyite. 👍

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a reply to that question Chris..
For what it's worth I enjoyed your co-commentary.

No disrespect to Big Chris but there's a big difference between sunday football and the professional game. A professional club deserves to have professionals doing commentary. Chris might be able to talk a good game but it should be someone who at least has an insight into the game.

Think Chris's playing experience is far above Sunday League iirc

I like Chris helping do the commentary, he says it as it is but also sticks up for Town when we get poor decisions (not frightened of speaking out) good commentator in my opinion.

He played at the Isthmian League level if I recall correctly - equivalent to Northern Premier League - so semi-pro. Apart from that he's coached I think and been watching the game for decades. So I'd say he knows a thing or two about he game.

His input on this board in the past was often insightful and when I've heard him on the radio he's been much more eloquent than many ex-players.

I'd better stop before I'm accused of having a brown tongue ;D
