Suppose to be a signing today according to twitter highly likely they say we shall see

I wonder if its a new new face or an old new face that has been on trial with us.

Probably a trialist. Rightly or wrongly they never really fill me with confidence when we do this. All a bit flat so far this summer so hoping it's someone who will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up!

Hope its not the Belgian who played at Winterton last night, without being derogatory to him he was crap.

There will be another new face tomorrow,

Luna will be attending her 1st home game after going to Colchester and Cambridge she is hooked,

We are making the long horrible journey from Suffolk tomorrow because she has never stopped asking me,

"When are we going to a home game granddad ?"

Strange to bring her to a pre season friendly with an attendance of around1500?

Knowing the club we won't sign anybody and it shall be a false dawn

You don't have to justify taking your granddaughter to a pre season friendly to this bunch Pete. Hope you have a fantastic day out and enjoy the fish and chips.

Maybe meeting his future management team in Currys then, he was in  there at three o'clock today looking at stereos, dressed in his town training kit.

If yussuf does get shown the door then I honestly dont know what to think .

He has looked so sharp in pre season and we are thin on strikers as it is.

We better have two strikers lined up and I mean quality strikers coming in if this is the case not two lads on trial  on the cheap.

What has happened to Russell slade having all these contacts in the game because all we seem to be doing is having trialists and young lads in hoping to come across something and tbh nearly all of them have been average and I'm sorry but as things stand right now fentys statement of intent on league two looks a bit daft.

honestly not one for rumours but I was at the Winterton game and management were sat directly behind me and my kids, my son heard a very senior person having a conversation about signing an attacking midfielder from a league 1 side, so that could be it. I don't want to say who said it about who because it could possibly jeopardise a transfer

I was watching an old film as I had nothing to do with it raining  "Seance on a wet afternoon " seemed appropriate so I sat in anticipation. As soon as it started  there was an almighty flash of lightening and the screen went black, but etched on the screen was a name but I couldn't quite read it. Another flash of lightening brought the screen back on and I was able to continue watching. All the people round the table were holding hands and chanting a date--17  October  1996--17  October  1996.  I have no idea what this date means-perhaps somebody on the Fishy could help ?

IF it is to be Tyler Walker I hope we give him a bit of time and remember he is only 20. Been reading the Forest message boards and they seem to think he is a long way off their side as he lacks any sort of strength and lacks a trick.

Time will tell but I hope he isn't burdened with a huge weight of expectation

Lincoln fans who saw him perform against them midweek were very impressed by him so appears to have the potential so lets hope a) he comes in & b) he fulfils thst potential. Would still like a proven goalscorer through the door but accept any club would want the same so we sit, wait and hope!!!

I think Slade is just about done we have been banging goals in for fun albeit against vastly inferior teams. No point in rushing in wasting money on a so called "Quality striker"  who may not exist at this late stage.

Did the club really build it up though? They posted yesterday that they expect a new face to be here for Wigan. They then dropped a signing tweet about an hour before he signed...that's it isn't it?

It was a telegraph journo that said it was happening yesterday. And it was him who built it up and said we would be happy (though hardly building up).

We've signed a good player, I'm happy.
Posted by: OllieGTFC, July 29, 2017, 1:30pm; Reply: 67
Apparently we have some very interesting names with a good experience at this level but there's no rush
Posted by: LH, July 29, 2017, 1:36pm; Reply: 68
It was the Telegraph who built this up and a few goons on Twitter plucking names out of a hat added fuel to the fire. The club have done nothing wrong (this time ;)).

I'm happy with the signing anyway. The one area we didn't have anyone for and we've got ourselves a player who has played a lot of games at a higher level.
Posted by: somersetmariner, July 29, 2017, 2:10pm; Reply: 69
Yeah, I agree it was the telegraph building it up. Happy we have made this signing but honestly that new journo at the telegraph needs to learn his craft.

Posted by: Mighty_Mariner, July 29, 2017, 5:09pm; Reply: 76
We do have a really experienced defence but will the lack of pace come back to haunt us or does experince/positioning negate the need for pace.

Russell's teams generally play very deep too so perhaps our centre half's don't need to be that quick?
