Twitter seams to suggest that Karleigh Osborne is on the verge of signing for GTFC.

He hasn't played many games in the last few years

Isn't that the fella Radio Humberside incorrectly predicted was to be unveiled sometime ago?

Think we announced Mitch Rose instead?

Would make sense with Boyce goimg. I'm pretty sure he's quick, although I'm basing that on fifa.

I wouldn't want him signing for us looking at his playing record of recent years. Absolutely injury prone

Can I just check, are we spelling with or without a "u", and does the obligatory "s" only get added if he signs?

Never mind how we spell Osbourne(s), the name Karleigh is going to sound excruciating to the ear in a Grimsby accent.

Can't wait for the commentary when he plays the long ball to Caaaardwell.

We do have some similar pronuciations to them for some words.  "Car park" isn't completely different - "chicken, chips and a coke" is miles off though.

In many ways, Grimsby is a bit of a Liverpool of the East:  Own accent, mischievous sense of humour borne out of port town graft and characters, influences of other countries' seafarers, a bit of sod-youism in attitude, insular but at the same time generous and resilient.

I'll remember that the next time i'm in Liverpool and fancy chicken and chips.  :)

Except that the whole population of  Grimsby doesn't insist that they are related to one of the Beatles.

Saving himself for the right club.

He played 21 games the season before last in a league 2 promotion team, and has played the same amount for Bristol city in the last 3 seasons, in what I'm presuming is the championship. If he can get over his injuries, he looks like a good signing.

The OS reckons he'll play a part tonight, but only mentions him as a trialist.

Also mentions Jamil Roberts and Jordan Mustoe (former Wigan left-back who has been playing in Belgium).

The trialists all had blank shirts tonight. Except osbourne who had his name and squad number printed on the back. Think its safe to say hes signed. Probably announcing in the morning

Didn't see enough of him, hope to see more at Winterton and Wigan

Osborne crrrrunched one of their players during his brief spell on the pitch. Safe to say he's a more physical sort of defender compared to the others we have. Looked OK, as did the triallist left-back.

I saw him first hand at Tavistock, didn’t realise who it was at the time as I was too busy digging into a pasty and chips.

Very commanding, keeps the back organised and plays like a rock. He grabbed my attention during that match and I will be pleased if he signs.

Welcome to Grimsby Karleigh, judging by what I saw last night your gonna be popular , just don't make any mistakes or the should have kept Pearson brigade will be on your back ;).Now we just need a lb and would be happy if Mustoe signed he looked solid last night against div 1 favourites and a no9( has RS got something up his sleeve, fingers crossed)

Did Cardwell not get the No9 shirt? If not that would certainly indicate Russ is still intent on bringing in another striker.

Really hope it's Tyler Walker - heard great things!

No he didn't no9 shirt is vacant which leads me to believe there must be another striker on the horizon.Time will tell

Was playing in Scotland previously, so no doubt will be announced once international clearance is received and he is registered with the English FA properly.

Speaks well and seems quite enthusiastic so it will be good to have three experienced centre-halves battling it out for their place in the team. Young Keeble ought to be able to learn a lot from them all as well.

I thought he sounded more enthusiastic than many signings, even if he was just saying the 'right things'. That's generally a good sign. He's probably keen to get back into the swing of things after a season where he only played twice by the looks of things.

We're looking strong in central defence now. It'll be interesting to see who the chosen partnership are.
