What car do you drive?
and would you recommend it?

VW golf TDI 63 plate and yes I would definitely recommend a VW - excellent motor!

Bmw (f21) 120d m sport, 8 speed auto. Cracking car. Plenty of power through the mid range and a decent return on fuel.

£30 tax per year too which is a bonus!

Highly recommend , not as common as bmw / audi / merc etc and i like to think a little more class

Why are they classier than a bmw/Audi etc?

62 plate 1.8l Mercedes C180 coupe. She's my pride and joy although I am considering upgrading to something with a bit more growl. Drives like a dream, I'd defintely recommend it though I'd probably go for a slightly bigger engine. Lots of choice with the C Class.

Ford Focus TDCI Sport. Top spec. Almost 60 mpg. Looks good. Quick. Great drive. Big boot. Cheap to tax (£30), service and insure. Good, practical family car without making you look like you've given up on life.

I had a Nissan Terrano 4x4 while I was at work , travelled all over Europe with them ( I had 4 )

All new but not at the same time , ;D

At the moment I have got a Nissan Note a good little car seeing as I do not do a lot of mileage now,

I will change next year and go back up the range as finding the Note a little too small,

Thinking of changing a habit of  life time and going for a Vauxhall  Insignia  or a Astra,

Anybody got any views on them ?

Yours opinion will be appreciated .

I got my VW for work Pete (1600 mile a month) it's a work horse & very economical, I would buy another VW next time without a doubt, you'll be seeing mine anyway when Harry & me come to pick you up for a game down your way this season😎   my mate has got a Vauxhall insignia Pete who also travels a lot of miles and he swears by it so I don't think you'd go far wrong with one of them mate especially if you want comfort at a reasonable price.

My Insignia isn't too bad at all. Good economy (near enough 60mpg Grimsby to Coningsby), spacious and definitely not the worst looking car of it's class either. £0 (zero!) road tax on my ecoflex diesel too!

It's no Audi A3 like I had before speedwise though - which is a good thing because the filth caught me a few months ago.

Agreed. I had a VW before I had my license revoked for a year and had to sell it. When I got my license back I bought a brand new Fiat Grande Punto as I got a really good deal on it. Not the classiest of cars I admit but it does the job. I also bought a private number plate for it LE58 REC which cost me next to nothing as it doesn't mean anything to anyone else.

Got the sport model , Done 20k miles in last 12 months including touring europe + gtfc away games . you wont go wrong with it 40K? not even loosened up yet. ,best motor ive ever had.

Also got a tdi golf ,bombproof !

I'm just about to change my 2.0 tdi Audi A4 for an S5, had the A4 for 8 years from it being a few years old and its just clocked 150k miles. Engine wise it's been fantastic, had to change the clutch (£600) but that's it. Suspension on it is fantastic, speed bumps are nothing and I barely noticed a flat tyre at motorway speed. It also gets 60 mpg.

if you want a car to last German is always a good shout. If you want a car to break down a lot buy an Italian one!

Ha ha I know - luckily I'm moving closer to work so my mileage will come down by about 15,000 miles a year. Plus I'm going for the 3l rather than the 4.2 so it's not too bad.......

Sorry I haven't any experience of them - have had VWs for the past 5 years.  It's worth having a look on owner's forums for things like common faults and buyer's guides though.

BMW 335D
Would not recommend it, very fun, very nice looking but had loads of problems with it, and the price of the car might come down but the price of repairing it doesn't lol. Trouble is I bought it when I travelled away for work and didn't need to drive it much, now I have a short daily commute which this is completely the wrong car for. Still got over a year of finance to pay though. Lots of lessons learnt overall for me haha

Indeed. I am very worried my Lamborghini Veneno is going to fail it's MOT cos of its ruddy faulty brake light and I am always having to patch up the wife's Ferrari F60...
