Been told by a very credible source that we are in for Kyle Vassell from Peterborough. Firstly anyone know anything and secondly, would you take him?

I mentioned him on a thread a while ago.

Scored plenty at Bishops Storford (?) before signing for Posh. Been made available although still has a year to run so may cost a small fee or at least a sell on clause.

He did score a couple last season in league One

His stats. Not sure exactly what this "dual-registration" is all about though.

Based on that I'd take him. I've already got my shirt with his name on and feel we have a new hero and a genuine chance of going up as champions. But then again I bet he stalls on a contract offer, which is ridiculous because he hasn't even achieved anything yet. Scoring a few for Bishops Storeroom in just a pub league is proof of nothing and he's already failed in the league so I think we've dodged a bullet by not signing him. Phew.

Don't know much about him but got 5 at Posh so clearly capable at this level. Could be a good signing if true.

Not sure how he will work with Fowler. Perhaps 433 again this year?

JPP, Fowler, Vassel

I don't think it will work so based on that I won't be buying a season ticket.

A Peterborough mate of mine says he's pretty quick and skillful, usually plays up front but can play wide as well if needed. Said he could be useful at this level.

I've not even bought my season ticket yet, but I've nevertheless burnt it, put my foot through my TV and have sent GTFC the bill.

More importantly, can he drive and does he live in Leeds?

Could potentially be a good signing, pace and power and can score goals given the chance! There will obviously be a lot of names flying about, especially with strikers given we need a player who can turn something from nothing something I feel we lacked last season but this guy could be a good shout! Stumbling block I guess could be that he'd require a fee unless Peterborough would be willing to let him go for nothing!

PH in the GET says hes inquired into a few players (new) so must have had a list of targets.

Hope Southwell is one, but I know it would be too much of a U turn for PH

At least 30 of them if last seasons list of target strikers was anything to go by.

Lets face it, most managers take the Championship Manager route to buying a player.
Are his stats good and does he have a good name? Tick. Sign him up.

Non league hot shot were the headlines when he signed for Peterborough from Bishop's Stortford in 2013. Maybe the jump from the conference South was too much too soon and a return to the conference with the mighty mariners is a good move for him. Sign him up Hursty, 16 goals in 16 games for Bishop's Stortford

Dwight Gayle at Crystal Palace played for Bishop's Stortford before going to Peterborough.

I remember seeing him play for Bishop's Stortford in a game at Harrogate Town a few years back. Bishop Stortford were managed by ex-Spurs keeper Ian Walker and John McDermott had recently joined Harrogate as assistant manager.

That game finished 0-0 but Gayle stood out by a country mile.

I think it's interesting to note that two of our best players of recent years (Pearson and Hearn) came from the league below the Conference. In my opinion, this is where we should be signing players from.

If you do your research, there is talent to be had. Peterborough have been doing it well for a few years now.
