Bad enough for us but it must be more frustrating for Hurst and Fenty. Is their a dead line for players to sign up? Some people will probably hold off buying a season ticket until they know what the team is likely to be.

I'd hope so! Would be a poor move by the club if we haven't given them one! As great as some of the players are that we are trying to resign, we can't wait all summer for them to make a decision- for obvious reasons!

Could be a good marketing technique by the club. Maybe waiting for the week that season tickets are released to announce that players are signing on with us.

How do we know they are interested in Toto .......... Based upon that will they sign McKreth & Brown too?

Surely the players will be on holiday at the moment so we might not hear anything for another week to 10 days.

Is this thread for real ?! They should be given a deadline?!? They've not even had 7 days since the wembley heartbreak!

All in good time. Not even a week has passed since the play off final. Some people are going to have to get a grip if this is the kind of thread that will prevail for the next 3 months! Book a holiday, go on a picnic, a bike ride, a BBQ or summat.

As for 'holding off buying a season ticket until they know what the team is likely to be' ?? Really?

You want the team sorted now so we don't put people off? Let's get real.

Any of the current players go to a football league club then I can't blame them as they want to play there and possibly above. If they goto another conference team then it's about money and we don't want those types of players.

Sounds a lot that team spirit played a part in last season and I'm hoping that they put that into their thoughts like we would when choosing another job if you're happy there with mates.

I would take a guess that Magnay,Toto,Pearson, and LJL have league interest but we need to stick together and not let all the positive noises through the fans and the trust come to nothing. We get behind the club and the team!

Anyone else worried Hurst might go?

Well that's all very well but the sooner we know the sooner we can plan ahead, early bird gets the worm and all that, I would expect that the players concerned will have signed or at least hinted that they will within the next two weeks

Oh well, if that's your expectation then I hope the club delivers that for you.

Didnt Brabin manage him and Brown at Southport as well? Might not actually be a bad shout

I don't think any of the 12 will go to another Conference club unless it is for family or financial reasons. They have the best chance of success here. If however any are offered contracts by league clubs then it will be difficult to hang on to them which is fair enough, but will they be offered regular first team action? That might be a factor.

I think they are skint, doubt they could afford to match our players wages.

No, I don't think he will get any offers from League clubs and he has already said he is 100% up for the challenge again so he will be here next season.

Even if we don't sign some of the players from last season then PH will have replacements lined up who  he believes to be at least potentially as good in each position. Hopefully the fact the we came so close last season will be a big incentive to players as well as to fans. We've had quite different squads each time we have reached the play-offs, it's a fact of life at this level that players move on a lot.

Every year of disappointment I say, "that's it, no more season tickets for me".
And every year I'm there on the first day of sales to get my season ticket.
Call me crazy or daft, but I just can't help it. That's what becomes of being a lifelong supporter of the Mariners.
Bring it on.

Am I right in thinking that non-league contracts end/start on 1 June? If that's the case, then presumably we should see offers start to be accepted this week?

This time of the year is horrible,

We are disappointed the players are disappointed ,

I am going on holiday in a few days and I bet the players are,

If they have not already gone,

When I return I expect most of the players would have signed,

AND

Mr Fenty saying he has seen the players Paul has got on his wanted list,

Well you know the rest. :)

Have to say I'm a bit concerned about keeping key players such as Magnay and Pearson. Both are certainly good enough to play at a higher level.
