I'd quite like to see us sticking with the 4-4-2, as that seems as a good solid team, as most opponents at this level do not do anything bold enough that we would have to alter the style. I'd like to see this, and would be happy to see this, as our season's first team:

McKeown
Magnay, Pearson, Gowling, Robertson
Makreth, Disley, Clay, Arnold
John-Lewis, Pitman

We should also sign another striker to rotate in-and-out with Pitman, as his fitness does not last. Aside from that I'd say Pitman is our most skilled striker. I know this may seem a little zany but could we look at resigning Southwell from Boston as he has had an amazing season there..?

Please suggest what positions need bolstering...

Apart from those two signings, we have a good set of stand ins:
Toto is a very competent CB, but his consistency would mean he plays second--fiddle to Gowling. Still a very good CB at this level.
Brown is an ok CM, don't rate him as highly as Clay but still a useful asset.

Don't see an issue with trying to sign Southwell, a years first team football may have massively kicked him on and if it doesn't work he would be easy to shift due to all the goals he has scored.

I think with this squad listed previously our team can win it. The teams coming down, and up for that matter, do not have a striker that has scored many, as LJL has scored more than any of them. This means that they pose very little threat to our defence. Whereas teams already here, FGR, Eastleigh etc, have huge budgets so may be able to get going and challenge us. It all depends on whether or not they sign again with us. As we cannot single out a player from last term that is 'most important' as they all are. Magnay won player of the season but Pearson, Toto and Robertson performed very well indeed. Also Hurst should not be looking to sign some players in Jan, as we need to be top before Christmas.

I think with this squad from Day 1, can guarantee the title!

I just have this awful feeling Pearson, Magnay and LJL will be moving on.  I certainly hope they don't as it would mean another reshuffle.

This non contract announcement is deafning lol
