Came close to getting straight through to their play off final

Leading 2-1 against Chorley then conceded in the 95th minute so 2-2 (on aggregate too as first leg was 0-0) and letting slip a two goal advantage

Just shows it ain't over till it's over. We need to be on top form tomorrow or else

Isn't it extra time then? Didn't think they counted in playoffs.

Guiseley beat the latest 'money club' Fylde in the other semi - former Town legend Danny Boshell with one of the goals.

Chorley win 5-4 on penalties, having been 2-0 down and equalising with the last kick of normal time.

looks like twice their keeper saved, and each time Boston player missed the subsequent pen....

That's a blow, from 2 0 up. Must  be sickening. Alfie down, no Boston coming up...if Town do go up it'll be lonely for Lincoln.

Lincoln's Chrimbo derbies will be against Halifax or Macc won't it?

This is Guiseley's fifth consecutive play-off campaign!

Hope they do it this time - mainly because it'll be by far my closest away game if we don't go up.

But I bet we go up so that game never happens...

I was at this game today, Hell of a game, completely different footie to  valderama premier,Have to say Chorley were a better footballing side but were very lucky to win in the end. The second Chorley goal was a wonderful overhead kick in the last seconds of the 4 minutes added time.Southwell was quiet all game and is still fairly lightweight and even though he has scored 30 goals this season,I can't see he would be strong enough in the van prem.He did have one cracking shot that hit the inside of the upright if it had gone in Boston would have been 3 nil up and should have been out of sight but these are fine lines in football. In the added 30 mins the match could have gone either way . Down to penalties,it's now down to Boston to take advantage of a Chorley miss and Boston have to score to secure a place in the Playoff final, up steps the excellent Piergianni, smashes his shot against the underside of the crossbar,I would have put money on him scoring, everyone in the ground thought it had hit the top of the net but not so, the Town end supporters at this point run on to the pitch thinking the game was won, after a few minutes the fans were herded off the pitch and the penaly shoot out began again,Chorley then scored and it then became sudden death with Bostons impressive Rene Steer also hiting the crossbar,Ending a very enjoyable game with Chorley coming out on top, winning 5 -4 on penalties.

No such drama for Town  tomorrow, an easy win   3-1.  LJL,Pitman and Arnold.    6500 Happy Mariners,
200 sad southerners.
