I have just phone the club to buy 4 tickets for the Wrexham game,

They informed me they will not be on sale until after the Gateshead game,

Ticket stubs for that game have first go,

Then they will be on general sale from Tuesday.

So I will be in the Osmond rather than the upper Findus by the look of it,

We are going to have 3 great home games to finish our time in the conference.

Up The Mariners !!!!!!!!!!

The funny thing is , the young lady said that,

I said why would STH need to buy a ticket,

Oh she said, I did not mean to say that. ;D

I went in to buy my Gateshead & Wrexham together to save me a journey, was quite surprised when I was told they weren't on sale yet seen as its only 10 days away. I was told they would be on sale after the Alfreton game! no mention of Gateshead stubs. Not living local  I'll have to make a special journey next week for my ticket

This suggests the Gateshead tickets are selling well although we've only sold a thousand as of last night. Are they expecting a big rush on Friday?

You could just ring & pay by card... they'll give you a reference number - then collect your tickets before kick off on match day...

That's what I do (thumbup)

Think town have missed a trick there. Should have all remaining games on sale...whilst we are in this position....

Thanks mate I will let you know,

I have just phoned the club again and the young lady told me, no tickets will be sold until Tuesday,

She said there would be nobody in the ticket office after the Gateshead game,

Its bank holiday on Monday, so Tuesday will be the first time anybody can buy,

I have got some stubs being sent to me after the Gateshead match and I am a trust member,

So hopefully we will be ok,

BUT

If not I will send you a PM, cheers

I tried to buy mine today too, along with my Gateshead ticket.

I think for Gateshead, many are waiting to see what the Barnet result will be on Friday(?). If this is the case and Barnet lose, expect a long queue at the ticket office come Saturday morning.
...Over 4,000 sold at the end of today's sales though, for Gateshead. Not sure if that includes season ticket holders though?

Wrexham, I agree with 'StiggsGTFC', when he said GTFC's missing a trick not having them on sale with our current position.

Boo! A pessimist! Out this foul fiend! This sort of post belongs on August to January's Fishy, not February to forever! This is the dawn of a new happy era!

Now where are my pills?

When I went to collect my Alfreton tickets on Tuesday I wanted to buy a ticket for the Wrexham game for my dad who doesn't have a season ticket and sits next to me. I was told tickets wont be for sale untill after the Alfreton game, so will be Tuesday! Only four days before the game, this really is daft.

I'm sure many who went to buy Gateshead and Alfreton tickets would have tried to buy tickets for the remaining home games. If the results dont go our way, in the next two games, demand will definately be lower, so as StiggsGTFC points out GTFC have missed a trick.

The club should have taken advantage of pre Easter euphoria and taken all requests and payments for tickets for remaining matches - JF says he wants higher crowds, but could be losing out if people cannot return in time to get match tickets due to out of town locations - some may not have internet use as well so won't be able to book on line, either !

Money in the coffers now will help the post to pre season times when no match revenue comes in.

Hopefully, a promotion would also instigate money from the league in advance of the new season, and assist in things like re-establishing a reserve team and enhancing the youth programme.

LIVE THE DREAM !!

Should do half price for the Wrexham game..fill the ground. Appreciate it'd annoy season ticket holders but in the position were in I don't think many would moan.

Surprised they haven't put an offer on for Gateshead also tbh..yes demand is a bit higher at the moment but still only 5500 or so attendance at best.

Get bodies in the ground.

The idea is to get maximum sales for Gateshead game with the stubs being used as 1st choice for Wrexham after Trust members dibs, makes commercial sense to me

No you can`t use your season ticket for this home game because the team are doing better than expected, buy a ticket or shove off LOL ;D

Don't understand why we would need stubs for first dibs on Wrexham tickets. There's plenty of seats!!

Although I tend to agree with you,  if the next two matches go well those plenty of seats that you describe could easily become few

Whenever there's been Offers like GET vouchers or friends ST vouchers they just tell you to bring them with you as proof when collecting your tickets. You may find they won't even ask to see them when you get there as they just want to keep the queue moving...

Can we stop this ticket Stub from the last game now and set up a membership scheme or really push trust membership! By sticking with the ticket stub model, we are potentially unable to market the last five games and offer a special price for all the remaining home games.  That means we lose revenue, which we can't afford to do.

Phoned up just after 9-00am,

Second in line got tickets in 5 minutes no stubs required,

The club have lost out though,

Last week I was going to buy 4 tickets,

Now there is only 2 of us coming up.

Grimsby pete, sorry, I was no 1 in the queue at 0900 hrs today for Wrexham tickets.  Made a difference to being no 45 last week with a 2.5 hour wait.

Come on people let's get a packed Blundell Park again. If you're a town fan is there anything better than a full house? If we're not going to win the league (not sure if we can now really) then let's get this "never perform in front of a big crowd" rubbish out of the way before the playoffs! UTM

We always do this a bit of success on the pitch and the ticket police come out and make stupid rules. We live in Stevenage and for the Trophy Semi away leg last year they would not sell me a ticket in advance despite the window time from going on general sale to the game day being small and posting tickets would have been risky ......... Had to pay extra to get 24 hour delivery, they came 48 hours later!

As a rule, in any business, if a customer phones you up and says "Can I pay you?" your response should be "YES, please read me the number across the front of your card".

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER turn down a sale.  Money in the bank and pipeline sales are VITAL to struggling businesses (I still put GTFC as a struggling business) so I can't for the life of me understand why they're turning down people's money.  If someone rings up and wants to buy a £5 Lincs Senior Cup ticket for the summer we should be biting their hand off.  I'm also amazed a £30/35 package wasn't done for the last three games.

The only possible reason I can think of in mitigation is that the club doesn't have the IT systems in place to be able to run sales for multiple events at any one time.

The Club certainly missed a trick not packaging the last 3 home games.  If we had lost at Alfreton then the tickets sales would have reduced for the last 2 home games.

As said above,  money in the bank.  Don't turn it down.  I was surprised when ringing up for Gateshead tickets that I could not buy Wrexham tickets at the same time.  This for a game only 7 days later.

(For big music giggs, they will take your money about a year ahead).

I think the clubs computer system can only run one game at a time,

How much do these things cost to up date,

Compared to how much money they are losing,?
Posted by: HackneyHaddock, April 8, 2015, 1:46pm; Reply: 37
That's probably it, grimsbypete.  My business has a really basic CRM that does invoicing and it costs a few grand over the year.  The larger company I also work for has a system that cost quarter of a million to upgrade.  Something for GTFC could cost somewhere in the tens of thousands I'd have thought.  Add to that the fact that they've not really had the situation of needing to do pre-sales before, at least since the days of big cup games or promotion/relegation run-ins.  In any case, I hope the commercial team would have a look at it to at least run the numbers.

I'm pretty sure that Town have offered a multiple ticket option before...definitely while we were in the league, so could have been that 2009-10 season or time might be playing tricks on my memory and it was even earlier than that?

As I remember it you could buy a block of five games at a discounted price...it was easy enough to do it then so no real reason why it couldn't have been repeated again at the end of this season

I understand from when I made a phone booking for the Gateshead game that each call they take in the ticket office is allocated about 8 minutes from getting through to order being processed (although if you have an account already in place, of course this won't take so long)

Imagine what it's going to be like again next week though if we are still in with a shout when the Aldershot tickets are released on general sale...a few hundred people waiting "patiently" on line for hours on end again is not the best way to get people on board.

As a one-off maybe fans can live with it but for those of us who can't get to the ground to wait in line, it's not really on to have to wait so long every time you want to make a phone booking. The option of having a "last month of the season multiple ticket" would have had this sorted without all the frustration imho

I don't think it's that, I've bought tickets for two matches before, I don't know what the idea was unless the Alfreton ticket sales were the problem but they had sold out of those by the time I tried to buy tickets for G'head & Wrexham

Join the Trust for £12 a year and then you will get a chance to buy prior to tickets going on general sale.

If enough joined we may even be able to afford to update the IT system ;)

"AROUND 900 tickets have been sold for another massive game against Wrexham this Saturday."

"With 900 tickets sold at this point we are predicting a total gate of around 4,000-4,500 on Saturday."

Read more at http://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/news/article/tickets-wrexham-southport-update-2385332.aspx#9ZOArrHffcGrq5xv.99

Doesn't look like the attendance will break the 5,000 mark this weekend, unfortunately.
