Alan Algar has noted that the clubs use of #outofthisleague is somewhat disrespectful. Straight away a flurry of fans have explained this has been used since pre season and doesn't mean to cause offence. Immediately after that the club Tweet again haha.

Alan Alger or whatever his name is has been one of the most disrespectful people I have ever come across on twitter. I blocked him over a year ago. Very precious and inflated opinion of his own importance

That is mad, if you are in any league apart from the Premier league you want to use #outofthisleague It is about going up that pyramid.  Really pretty daft!

Well it's common sense that any club with half a brain cell would want to #outofthisleague

Stupid idiot with backward thinking , no wonder he has an association with this blue square vanarama ann summers dildo league or whatever its called.

He can't talk though, it's clubs like GTFC, Bristol R, Barnet, Torquay, Cambridge, Luton etc have made the conference a much better league in terms or reputation imo.

Alan Alger is a "big cheese" (allegedly) with the Non-League Paper.  A self-styled expert in lower league football.

Probably a very little fish in a small pond and a legend (or leg-end)  in his own lunch-break.

He has found his own level. He sets himself very low standards, which he frequently fails to meet.    (Apart from that he is probably ok).    ;D

Yes. Randomly putting # in front of a word has to be the shittest idea since Inner City Sumo.

Let's be honest it is a very difficult league to get out of not to mention the lack of funds it generates (how much will the conference receive from 5bn football money, 100k?).

The conference gives more benefits to minnow clubs, with the bigger clubs away fans turning up in decent numbers, yet when reversed very little support from these clubs doesn't help financially.

The standard of refereeing is shocking (with the exception of the odd 1 or 2)

The committee /FA were not too clever in terms of fixture backlog.

Loss of youth funding doesn't hrlp clubs that have dropped down

So i think most big clubs have every right to call it what they like we owe the conference nothing.

I think he knew he would get a reaction so he trolled those Town supporters on Twitter. Best just to ignore the fella.

I like the way Alan Algar thinks you can control how a hash tag is used.

One of the first things you need to accept when using Twitter is that no one can 'own' a hash tag. Many hundreds have been invented, and then hijacked. There'll be a queue of high profile celebrities who'll testify to that.

You cannot control what people say on social media. That's thew beauty of it (although it brings its evils too). It has the power to bring people together and makes the world a smaller place. This message board isn't too dissimilar in that sense.

One of the best things that's contributing to this positive mood is the social media activity. We all feel a part of this amazing run, even though some of us can't be there.

I get excited because I see how excited all the other Town fans are - on here, on Twitter, on Facebook... and it just snowballs. Just look at what's going to happen at Alfreton.

Would we be taking 2,500+ if social media didn't exist? Would we have been able to organise the hi-viz thing? Probably no to both.

Everyone wants to get out of whatever league they are in, by the front door, apart from the 20 clubs in the Prem.

When the club say out of this league I thought is it was referring to our support being out of this league lol.

I think every comment about him so far sums him up.

He was something like the Relationship Manager for Blue Square when they had sponsorship of the Conference, then had the same position at Skrill.

I think he's working for something like BetWay now.

Self-titled guru on all things non-league, even though like most of the non-league media luvvies he rarely deviates outsides his little M25 bunker.

The non-league has got some great things going for it.  I can't imagine any other fifth tier division and below having their own newspaper and radio show.  However they need to get out of this south-east bias they have.
