Hope we get an early goal second half so we can relax and start to really take the game to Welling and boost our goal difference. Despite Welling's poor league position they've actually lost less home league games than the Town at the moment, so a win by any score is a good result, and one by a big score, huge.

I remember when I lived there, there was a good 300 town fans there. They were the days of division 1 (qpr, Fulham, Watford etc) and there was always plenty of interest in getting coaches/minibus' sorted.

My thoughts are,

Barnet will win next 4 games,

Town will win next 4 games,

Last minute of last game,

Barnet beating Gateshead 1-0 concede in last min so 1-1,

Town drawing 1-1 but score in last min so win 2-1,

We are top of the league for the 1st time this season,

AND

Promoted  ;D ;D

6 points next weekend is imperative, looking at Barnet's 2 games. Get them and then I will start to believe. Barnet's point lead and goal difference still puts them as favourites.

Cracking today. Such a good feeling to be in the position we are now! Makes the last minute winner for Lincoln at their place a hard pill to swallow!

Gateshead for me will be the toughest, we have what it takes to win. I think 4 wins out of 5 will see us win the league!

Big call there Rob and I hope you're right because we have goal difference advantage over Rovers which could end up being crucial.
Thing is now though as one of the pundits pointed out on BT Sports at lunchtime it's all about the pressure from now on in and for the first time you could argue the pressure and the spotlight has now focussed on Town. There is no doubt we have the momentum and I am praying we can keep it for 5 more games. We may need to win the last 5 to top the table which would then mean we would have won 12 from 13 which would be an incredible sequence, 12 consecutive wins being the record in this league.
We need now to think of the last 5 games as a mini league where Barnet get a 2 point start (bearing in mind goal difference and forget previous results).
It's going to be very interesting, exciting and nervy but we can do it.
Posted by: RonMariner, March 28, 2015, 6:26pm; Reply: 214
All 5 of our games are winnable. We just need the breaks.

We have a strong squad, with plenty of cover. our current form is amazing, better than Bristol and Barnet.

We can do this.
Posted by: cmackenzie4, March 28, 2015, 6:32pm; Reply: 215
Its still a tall order because I think we will need to win all our 5 games, we have Gateshead, Wrexham and Aldershot who are more than capable of getting a result as we well know,  take one and game at a time and who knows! Whatever happens our recent form has been fantastic, let's hope we carry on, next weekend will be crucial!

Good points well made Chris

As excited about things today as I am we've got a long way to go

I do think we can hold our nerve and see it out but for me whilst it's good to have our head in the clouds we've still got to keep our feet on the ground  :)

The  Chester result is closed.  However, the 2 points would have put us top on points.  :o

More positively, We must have the psychological advantage as the form horse and finishing so fast.

Also, Barnet must believe that we are good enough to sustain our winning run over the next 5 matches. We beat them relatively easily home and away.  They also admitted that we were the best team that they had played.

Their confidence must be dented after having been caught by us after leading virtually all season. We must be the very last team that they want to see on the coat-tails. ;D ;D ;D

Just been on the Barnet and Rovers forums. Barnet fans are on a real  downer as you might expect. Rovers fans are almost as pleased as us with the equaliser at Alfreton.. It is clear from many posts on their forums that neither of them want to meet us in a play off final, especially Barnet. I think the point they are both missing when they look at the remaining games and decide who will be champions, is the roll we are on at the moment. Who wouldn't bet on town now? I know we can still come unstuck but so far, so good and it's them who are bottling it just as we are showing everyone we are the best football team in this league. UTM

Chris is probably still all over the place after this afternoon and who can blame him. I feel a bit flustered too myself - like a kid let loose in a sweetshop :P

We'll just have to make sure we all know where to be and when to see the Town get over those final hurdles.

Keep this run going and Blundell Park 25th April is going to be a day to remember  :)
