Mansfield got given 2300 in the season they went up. Think they may be able to squeeze in 2500 but that will be our lot.

The next worry is Southport away according to website can only fit 1200 standing 300 seats if we are still in title hunt it will be mayhem.

Last year a mate who knows an Alfreton player got me two freebies for the home end. When we got in we just walked around and sat in the town stand with no problem. If it's not sold out I'm hoping to do the same this year.

As an exile myself it's well worth getting a Trust membership for occasions like this. A bit annoyed that the club will now seem to charge £6 for special delivery postage of tickets though.

THE club have now requested an extra 500 tickets from Alfreton for the Vanarama Conference fixture next month. We had been sent an initial 1,500 tickets by the Derbyshire club but 1250 of them have already been snapped up.

Tickets for this game will go on unrestricted General Sale from Monday at 9am.

The prices are as follows:

Adults: £18.00
Seniors: £12.00 (65+)
Students: £12.00 (with a valid card)
Young Adults: £12.00 (16yrs - 18yrs)
Juniors: £2.00 (15yrs and under)

We will have some important travel information for Town fans nearer the time.

Any ideas what the important travel info is...?

No bank holiday disruptions on First Trans Pennines or East Midlands so can't be anything wrong with the trains.

This is last years article about Alfreton tickets and at the bottom it says 'With 2,500 away tickets available in total'. I personally think that if we sell the remaining 750 within the next 2 days then we will get another 500. What a sight that would be, seeing 2500 Mariners going wild after going top of the league  8)

I think the capacity of the whole ground is 3600 so they really can't give us any more than the 2500. Fair play to them for giving us a reasonable allocation.

This is going to be incredible! Am so gutted I can't make it but can't wait to hear the atmosphere on the radio! Do us proud! UTM

On the phone at the ticket office at 1218 hrs (just now). I was at my best position of 28th today.  After phoning up earlier a few times.

The estimated delay time given was a very realistic I think (139 mins), 2 hrs 19 mins. Lunchtime breaks no doubt figured in.

(To be fair I am only trying to book ticket for exiles for the Gateshead game before all the best seats are taken).

Lets not forget all sales profit is going to Alfreton, nothing to us, be nice if the same enthusiasm was shown for home games, would Alfreton pay us for extra staff come on wake up and smell the coffee

Our home gate is still higher than that, what is wrong with loads of people going to support the team away?  If the capacity of Blundell Park was 3,500 you would probably get the same enthusiasm and clamour but as we don't have such a limited supply, there is not such a high demand.

*Edit Just seen the reply you making, fair point regarding extra staff members coming out of our pocket for no profit, my bad on that!

It's not like our ticket office staff get paid a fortune though is it? Getting an extra pair of hands to take phone bookings this morning would cost what £30? At the very least announcing that they are not taking phone bookings would save people a lot of hassle and wasted time.

Helpful feller there sold me a Gateshead ticket but says Alfreton fully sold out, and "Alfreton FC so far not playing ball" for a third allocation of tickets to Town (booo to me for waiting til now to book it).

He said that the 4  ticket office staff had sold more than 1,000 tickets in 4 hours.

we watched from there for about 10-15 minutes the first time we played there. you might remember that alfreton thought it  a good idea to only have 1 turnstile for the 1200 who turned up. not a bad view at all and we could also keep an eye on the queue eventually going down.

"Definitely deserved a point today against what I must say was a very unimpressive Barnet side, whose only tactic was the long ball to Akinde. No silky passing, no style, nothing".

"I imagine the next home game against Grimsby will be a much sterner test".

(This bloke is very accurate and perceptive!).   I hope.

As I said on the other thread, what are 2500 Town fans going to do before the match? If you get people in pubs as they arrive (guess many like ourselves are planning on arriving early to allow plenty of time to get in) then everyone is in a couple of places, people are generally happy with a beer and footy on the telly, surely it makes policing the whole thing much easier? Not to mention an absolute cash cow for said pubs involved... The Victoria near the ground would make more in a couple of hours than in an entire weekend.
Posted by: LH, March 31, 2015, 4:47pm; Reply: 167
Unfortunately a few male private heads down the years have ruined the leniency we should be given and now we're kept on a lead at away games. Essentially we're going there to get Town promoted and it SHOULD be a party atmosphere all being well. Hopefully the police will be in a party mood too because they can be as much to blame as "the minority" when things do kick off.
Posted by: Mariner Timsky, March 31, 2015, 4:56pm; Reply: 168
I just remember last season trying to get in a pub and the police asked where we was going as we was heading away from the ground , , and we said pub and they said they are not letting people in so was advised to go into the ground, , , which was rather annoying as we ended up being in the ground for almost 2 hours before a ball was kicked! ace atmosphere though, , ,

am sure as has been said earlier, , arrive early get in a pub, , , no problem

Exactly. Most of you will be hung over from Sunday anyway and the last thing you will want is a beer!

What is there to 'do' culture-wise around Alfreton?

I'm not usually one for comparing attendances and away followings (especially with Lincoln) but to take 2,500 to an away match is incredible.

The gate for Lincoln's HOME game with Alfreton on Boxing Day (remember, the one they wanted instead of us) was 2,685 including 66 from Alfreton, so 2,623 Lincoln Fans.  We'll no doubt have a hundred or so in the home end on Monday, so we're actually taking more fans to the Alfreton away match than Lincoln cobbled together for their bumper Boxing Day home game against them.

I come cap in hand and hold my hand up to missing out on an Alfreton ticket. Does anyone have a single ticket to get rid of or know if more tickets will be released. I'm currently working away in Wales and have found it hard to purchase this time round?

Hope there is someone out there who has a magic wand

I'm hearing there's will be a release of tickets from Alfreton before 12 o'clock. Great news coming five days before the game to allow fans to get sorted as soon as possible. My mate who works as stadium manager over there, Al Modrof has told me they'd be foolish not to take full advantage of all the fantastic support we are planning to take.

April Fools aside, I actually think alfreton have already been a lot more generous than most.

As for southport. I'm not thinking that far ahead although people thinking that we'll take thousands is just a tad optimistic. I'd say anywhere between 2000&3000 would be about right.

Some fans do get carried away when we talk about followings etc.

That said, if we had lincoln this week who only get 2500 at home would they have given us more tickets? Doubt it somehow...

There's going to be 2 games on Easter Monday with a combined AWAY attendance of OVER 5000. Incredible really, I don't think you'd get that anywhere else in the world for 5th tier football.

2600 Bristol fans going to Kiddy on Monday, should get them thee points I suppose

From Alfreton today..

Quoted Text
Such is the magnitude of Monday’s game in more ways than one, strict segregation procedures have been put in place for the fixture, particularly after the Mariners sold out their 2,500 ticket allocation way before the game.

Early closure of turnstiles

Alfreton Town fans are advised that admission to the Grimsby game will be via the North Street turnstiles only and that they should arrive for the fixture far earlier than usual.

The North Street turnstiles will be open from 12.45pm but Reds fans should pay particular notice to the fact that they will close at 2.30pm and there will be no entry to the game after that time except for season ticket holders who will have up to kick-off to gain entry.

Alfreton fans should also note that there are no Early Bird or Group Saver Tickets available for this fixture due to logistics over the Easter period.

All ticket for away fans

The game is all-ticket for away fans and all Grimsby Town fans without tickets are advised not to travel to the game as there will be no entry for them on the day.

Grimsby fans will be housed in the Alma Street stand and all of the Tom McRoy stand seats both covered and uncovered, all of which can only be accessed through the Alma Street turnstiles only.

Alfreton fans will have the use of all of the Bentley Close seating and terrace area along with the Tommie Bradley terracing and Reds Bar seating areas for the game.

which means we've got the 2 biggest sides - the away end and the side to the right as you look at the pitch from the away end.

But what time will the away end turnstiles be open? I can imagine a few more than 2500 turning up for this one so I think many fans will want to get in early as the last time we filled it, they only had the one turnstile open and fans were pulling the gates open. Its going to be a great atmosphere UTM
