of note to GTFC:

Eastleigh (WWWL) v Wrexham (LWDW)
Halifax (LDDD) v Barnet     (LWLW)

Halifax really need to get back to winning ways to stay in the play-off hunt so might do us a favour.  Wrexham's last game was a 1-4 win at Altrincham so they should be buoyant. Sensible money would be on Eastleigh who prior to losing at Barnet on Saturday had beaten Macclesfield, Bristol and Kidderminster scoring 7 goals, conceding only 2.

I will be glued to the score updates.

Could really do with Wrexham and Halifax wins tonight. If that happens, our position looks much better.

I know it's not healthy to pin your hopes on other clubs failing, but most teams in this league can turn other teams over. So I'm going to allow myself a glimmer of hope.  Who would have thought Lincoln would take 6 points off us this season. What a difference those 6 points would have made. Waaaaaaaaaaa

Indeed that could be very nice for us, if results could go our way hopefully that could rebuild some the positivity and momentum that was really building up at 17:30 on Saturday.

A Halifax win will be great though.

You're not concerned that it'll negatively impact the free-flowing passing game for which Halifax are renowned?

I think they're good enough footballers to overcome.

They were ace at home but crap away and then just suddenly switched over after we won there. Let's home they switch back before Saturday!

Saturday looks interesting now. Eastleigh have won their last four away, Southport, Chester, Brizzle and Kiddy.

I'm looking at how many goals Eastleigh have conceded this season... 52, which is quite high.

It says to me that they're vulnerable at the back.

They also score plenty (72), so they play an open game. I don't think they'll be coming to BP for a draw.

That may help us, as we've had problems breaking down teams.

I hope Hurst isn't too cautious here. There's enough evidence here to show that we should go for it - their defence isn't that great, and I think we have enough up front to give them trouble. I only hope the players are sent out with that message.

Most importantly, we can't sit back or protect any lead we may get. These guys score goals wherever they go.

Both teams to score and a Town win - that's where my money's going!

Bristol Rovers, Barnet and Macclesfield have all got "easy looking" home games. Bristol Rovers are at home to Aldershot on Friday night whilst Barnet and Macc are home to Welling and Nuneaton respectively.

Be great if Aldershot could nick something on Friday night.

Stop dreaming people...its less painful.
Just settle for the more likely proven outcome of failing in the play off's.

Anything better would be a very suprise bonus.   ;)

If we can win Sat we could still do this (win league) and at the same time increase gap between us and Eastleigh almost ensuring playoff position to...
Come on Town!!

We could be Torquay fans.

I bet their forum will be fun reading tonight.

Who would have thought that when they outplayed us in the first half here back in September.

Never mind Chester, after Braintree won 5-1 at Torquay tonight, our season could be heavily influenced on when we played Torquay at home.  Or rather the bad timing.

Looking at Saturday and looking down the table just for a second: does anyone consider our game to be must-not-lose, in the context of it being (most likely) the current top 6 teams fighting for the top 5 spots?
Posted by: mariner91, March 17, 2015, 11:56pm; Reply: 60
I think all our remaining games are must not lose games if we have any realistic chance of the title.

This. Although I along with everyone else are looking up and hoping to fight for that top spot, we need to be careful and make sure we keep the run going because not only could we miss out on top spot we could slip out of the top 5!. IT's very close this year and someone somewhere is going to be disapointed and then again 3 more teams once the play offs are finished with.
