I think you can take exception to what footballers "earn"....what they are paid and what they actually earn are miles apart  :-/

It is estimated that 650 million people watched Chelsea v Man City last week. That is why they are paid the big bucks, same as film and pop/rock "stars". Not saying it's right, but it's understandable.

I think that figure is actually how many people would be able to view it. 23 different nations broadcaster were there. A viewing figure pulled from the sky like the one billion people who supposedly watched the Superbowl.

There'd have been plenty of other countries where it was on though (on the worldwide feed, even though the broadcaster wasn't actually there)
