Just looked at Scunnys crowd last night 3000 ............... And they are building a 12000 all seater ??  Typical Robins Form already , won 1 in 5 ......... I really hope their Chairman is in it for the long Haul or I see a "Darlington" looming large in the future .

Love 'em or hate them - they are in the league and we're not !

We would probably take 1500 there at least for the nearest away game !

Boyce back in the side again and holding his own, so not a lot of difference in playing standards, really?

Wouldn't we like to be back up there again, with good local derbies at less than 100 miles radius to enjoy, atmosphere in the ground, and filling coffers up from visiting fans coming back again ??

Acko , your reply has pretty much nothing to do with the original post.

Just an honest opinion of the differences in crowd against leagues and wondering if envy caused the first post - not arguing with facts given.

Fact 1 - We want to be in their division.

Fact 2 - We want a new stadium for the team.

Fact 3 - We are currently winning games and they are not.

Fact 4 - Both sets of fans can be fickle about watching a losing team.

Just making comparisons between the two teams from the poster's comments !

They've also just signed a Premier League goalkeeper and despite their paltry attendances, the calibre of player they sign generally, is way above the level we are at. Their Chairman must have very deep pockets.

Just shows that if you offer the right financial package, then players will sign despite "the area".

This is not a dig at Town by the way.

Why are some so obsessed with other club's attendances.

I personally don't give a flying whatsit how many Scunthorpe get home or away.

This is spot on,    like it or not and no one hates them more than me, they are a well run club. Only people who are whiter than white themselves can poke fun at others or else they're arguments look bafoonish?😞 it will be a while before we have bragging rites over them won't it lads?  This is how low we have sank when we are celebrating a win over the "mighty" Eastleigh and the like!

Quite agree - but to answer your question, I suspect it's an 'easy' way of measuring the size of respective clubs.

It's a pretty crude and shallow way. Not very scientific. I imagine some boffin out there can compose a formula that expresses a club's size (and no doubt it'll consider more than just their average attendance).

Their Chairman says he`s confident that they will get no objections regarding planning permission and that they will be playing in their new ground in eighteen months time, planning first land dig in six weeks time, says the new ground will pay for itself by utilising conference facilities, hotel etc etc, makes our efforts (Council) pathetic
