sorry but can I ask where does it say there was going to be a announcement today, I thought Hurst said the player had gone away to consider our offer and there would be a decision sometime next week.

I read it as the player was making his mind up over the weekend, having been not previously aware he was up for grabs and even if he has decided to join us, all the paperwork has to be done. I think the manager and major shareholder were busy going up and down the A1 today, so was never going to happen today anyway.

I think i can stand the suspense for a day or two more.

He actually said 'early next week' which I took as Monday to Wednesday, but it's down to the player, he's obviously got a lot to consider. The Barnet game may have helped his decision :)

He has only started 1 match this season (for Newport that is ) - so can see him being a bench warmer. If signed, might see Makereth play out of his skin.
