Bearing in mind the weather forecast for the next few days Town are facing an horrendous fixture schedule if the elements conspire against us and we happen to beat Gateshead when it eventually gets played.

Jan 17th Barnet (H) called off due to overnight frost and snow
Jan 19th Gateshead FA Trophy (A) called off frozen pitch
Jan 24th Nuneaton postponed due to involvement in trophy
Jan 24th Gateshead FA Trophy (A) called off frozen pitch
Jan 27th Eastleigh (A) postponed due to involvement in trophy
Jan 27th Telford (H)
Feb 3rd Dover postponed due to involvement in trophy
Feb 7th F Green (A) provisional dependant on continued involvement in Trophy
Feb 14th B Rovers (H)
Feb 21 Barnet (A) provisional dependant on continued involvement in Trophy
Feb 28th Braintree (H) provisional dependant on continued involvement in Trophy

If the above doomsday scenario occurs we would have 7 games to rearrange.

Its cold but not freezing over the next few days with no snow forecast so do not see the problem.

It's been the weirdest December/January ever. The number of blank Tuesday nights that have passed, empty Saturdays( though some of those games were shifted tbf), and useless tinpot trophy games.
It's going to lead to the inevitable fixture pile-up and God knows it's made this board tetchy and at times rather unpleasant. Bring back the football!

I don't understand this 'fixture pile up' nonsense. I've never played at a high level but if someone turned around to me and said "You're going to have to play 2 maybe 3 games every week for 3 months and cut down 1 or 2 training sessions, is that ok?"
I'd be buzzing to have loads of games piled up. It's what PH does with the players on the days we haven't got the games. If he cuts physical training down to 1-2 days and has 1 'tactic' day then if anything that can only be a positive surely?

Or alternatively the game will go ahead on Saturday and we'll lose on Monday!

Not going out today-a tree might fall on me.

But what will we do if Blundell Park is obliterated by a meteor strike?!? How will we possibly fulfil our fixtures then?

It begs the question why on earth the FA trophy is played so late. It should start in July.

Very good point horseforth. Would be interesting to hear why it is played during the winter months as it always causes match congestion due to replays and bad weather, Why does the Trophy take preference over the league too? :-/

The preliminary round is in October. Maybe they can't (or won't) have it earlier because of the FA Cup?  :-/

If it's like last season, a Gateshead postponement will work in our favour, because they'll end up having to play us at Boston.
