Pity most of the team cant pass a ball 10 yards, but I will settle for 1-0, would prefer 4-0 by now so I could relax a bit.

Mackreth having another shocker. Neilson must be on soon? Like to see Hamish on as well. Switch to 4-3-3?

Mackreth's a poor player. He's had so many bad performances, yet still gets picked to start every game. Wonder how that makes Neilson or McLoughlin feel?

My prediction is that Barnet will gradually be reeled in by one or more of the teams just behind them. I hope we are one of them that do it

Uh oh, don't need Magnay to be injured over Xmas.... Clashed with Dizza, brought off for Bignot. Sounds like he might be concussed.

Tonight's ref has recently run the line on the following fixtures:

United States      1 - 2      Colombia
Argentina      0 - 1      Portugal
Arsenal      1 - 2      Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur      2 - 1      Everton
Steaua Bucureşti      0 - 2     Dynamo Kyiv

yet now he's reffing on a cold Friday night at Grimsby. I'd stick to being a linesman if I were him.

Interesting interview with Danny North on Humberside right now. Saying that he would seriously have considered re-signing for us while training at gtfc recently, but he already had a 2 year contract on the table from Shamrock Rovers and Hurst wanted a longer look at him on trial before making him an offer. North didn't want to risk staying on trial here for any longer so went back to Ireland.

He's properly scathing about his time at Alfreton too. Claiming that on the Thursday before the Conference North play-off semi the whole Alfreton team went out for a Chinese and a few pints!

Thought we gave away a lot of silly free kicks in our own half, always a dangerous game to play especially with the fire power they had up top towards the end!

Yep, it was maddening the way we stupidly kept giving them chances to sling the ball into the box. Very reminiscent of most of the past few seasons. Thankfully, we defended most of the set pieces well and got a bit of luck here and there where needed.

Not the best performance tonight, but we battled our way to the victory and our two real pieces of class won the points - a precise curling cross from Magnay for the first and a beautifully-weighted chip through from LJL for Disley's winner.

Thought all of the defence played well generally, though they were pretty sloppy for their goal and had the odd dodgy moment.

Brown was poor most of the night, Arnold did little for much of the game and the LJL/Pittman combo wasn't quite working out though both did things well individually. Mackreth works hard but doesn't look to be a match-winner and rarely even attempts to get past his man. Thought he took an unnecessary touch before his shooting chance which put him under pressure - should have hit it first time.

Anyway, hope Magnay isn't concussed because even slightly out of position on the left still looks a really good player for this level.

What else? Oh, I didn't think much of the referee who also gifted them plenty of free-kicks which were nothing like correct decisions.
