There beer selection is great and I'm going to one before the game at Altrincham on Saturday: but I came across this as I was checking the opening times, etc:

Nothing quite beats a bit of properly smoked haddock. My flatmate had been used to cod but I showed him the light.

Really impressed with the one in Knutsford I went to before the game today: almost like a huge posh deli with counters and staff all over the plaice!

They're all based in the north west, and I first went in one at Garstang near Preston - and they had dozens of different ales on at £1 a bottle, and apparently they have this "Festival" every year. We usually pop in the latest one at Penrith en route back up to Scotland whenever we can. They also do excellent fish and chips in their restaurants. Agree with the doggy chap, an excellent shop!

One in Ilkley as well - think that's as far East as they come. They are very nice shops.
