The difference between a side just hoping to squeeze into the playoffs and a side going for the automatic place boils down to belief. There is a tipping point between the two. If we can keep this run going this team will be very close to having that belief especially if the other results go their way again. Then we will stop thinking a point is a good result against a team like *********** and start thinking that a point is two points lost no matter who we are playing. More important maybe, those other teams will think a point against us is like winning the cup.

We are near to that tipping point. Our position in the new year might prove psychologically crucial to us and the other contenders for champions. There are things I might like to see like finishing off the opposition when we have so much possession. But several seasons ago when we first came down to this crappy league I posted that I didn't care how we got out of it as long as we did. If that means 1-0 then fair enough as long as we played ruthlessly enough to scare future opponents.

Hurst is not my cup of tea as manager but he has assembled a decent squad and every game they add to a winning run is a boost to their confidence and winning habits will bring back the fans.

A fair assessment and some good points IMO.

Without wanting to sound 'negative', the way I see it...

- I think we have to 'go for it' (while on a roll) now anyway.
- If we do (or even if we don't) the bubble is likely to burst at SOME point.

If only because IF we "take risks" to try and WIN some drawing/stalemate games, there's more danger of losing and bursting the so called bubble. (not that the Oxford defeat stopped us of course...)

So I can live with any risk (least in the short term) because 3 pts are always better than 1.

If we remain unbeaten all season then forget the hotdog, I'll happily stick 4 frozen burgers up my @rse.  :)
