Actual lineup is McKeown, Magnay, Thomas, Pearson, Nsiala, Parslow, Pell, Disley, Neilson, Arnold, John-Lewis

Anyone know which live event we need for TuneIn?

Solid team selection, can't have any complaints there.

Looks like a 4-5-1 then. Parslow behind pairing of Disley and Pell. Arnold and Neilson in more advanced positions behind LJL. Definitely an option for Arnold to push further forward than Neilson, who can hold back a little and dictate play. I worry slightly about the cover the full backs will get if they decide to press ahead.

Town playing well with a very fluid midfield. Lennie missed two good chances. Halifax look pish so far. They've brought about  200.

8:14 PM

26: Great play Neilson with a swerving run to set up John-Lewis on the left, he forces a fine save from Glennon

8:10 PM

22: Glorious chance for John-Lewis. Free header from Arnold's free kick, 6 yards out but it goes over the top

8:08 PM

20: John-Lewis unlucky with an acrobatic effort after Arnold helped on Magnay's cross. Ball was behind striker

8:06 PM

18: Town break at pace from a Halifax corner through Neilson & Pell, the latter's shot is spilt but the defence cover

7:55 PM

7: Corner comes to nothing as the Mariners are forced back into their own half

7:49 PM

2: Great corner by Arnold, flicked on by John-Lewis and Nsiala can't get the vital touch on it

It was me, and I am relieved that it's now only down to 3 of them. But still nothing to get carried away about.

Gateshead-Lincoln could easily have gone Heed's way. We only scored 1 so could easily have dropped 2 points at the death. FGR could easily have picked up 2 more.

Mathematically Gateshead and Woking could realistically overtake us and Torquay could just about with 2 massive wins. Even I don't think Rovers could though!

No getting carried away here. Would you say we have a good chance of the play offs or would you still say we've an "outside" chance?

Also, you can't really say that tight games are a reason to dismiss Town's chances. It works both ways. There have been games for us this season where a bit more luck could easily have seen us get more points. As it stands, FGR and Gateshead dropped points tonight, we didn't. Regardless of the manner of the games. We're on a great run of form and with a bit of lucky injury wise there is no reason to think we can't sustain it.

I'm still not confident. We've been on good runs before at this time of year. In fact it's become a habit. Last year we staggered into the playoffs - this year the competition is tighter. Never underestimate Hurt's ability to mess around in the New Year and muck things up.

My appraisal isn't based on one tight game. It's based on years of games. And there simply isn't the buzz around which you get when we're on a promotion campaign - you can call that gut reaction. You can call it experience.

True, this is now traditionally the time of the year where everyone has their hopes raised. But I personally feel that, certainly in terms of personnel, we have a better team than the last two years and we weren't a millions miles away then. We're not always convincing but from what I've seen of other teams and from their results, nobody else seems to be either.

PS ask me after we've taken 50 points out of a good run of 20 games.

For me in January i would get a striker in just to bolster the squad the 2nd half of the season.

How about 23 points from 10 for starters? Equates to 107 points in a season

In some ways that's what I fear! We seem to have done that in the past and chucked away good positions at the top. If we do bring someone in it must not be at the expense of anyone who is currently doing well - and now that Lennie is scoring, I include him (never thought I would say that  :) )

Nah. Too short a run to be really significant. You need a run of 20+ games to have a good guide. We've also had a run of 10 games with only 13 points. So it could flip again. At best we're a play-off side.

4. Is there a qualifying level for an opinion? How about people who do agree with you but haven't seen any more games? Is that somehow more valid? How many do you need to see to see how good/bad we are? What about the number of games when people who are at the match make comments which show that we show the same old faults? Should they be ignored? Does it count if you've seen the same patterns repeating themselves season after season? How many times do you have to send a turnip round the world in order to broaden its horizons?
