Just setting off for BP, c'mon lads.

It should be on BBC Radio Humberside website shouldn't it? The FA Cup is live on the BBC I thought.

We have got 7 subs today but no keeper,

Shocking short corner (what's the point in them?) led to first and they just walked that second in. This is excrement and why is JM on the pitch? He's hopeless.

Formation is a farse. Looks like we're playing with two defensive midfielders, one winger and three strikers. It's incredibly lop sided and has left LOADS of space at the back for them to exploit. We knew they were a passing team, we should have set up to press and counter. Arnold and Pittman have been invisible - mainly because they don't appear to know where they're meant to be playing.

451 been working well recently why change it ?
Posted by: Meza, November 8, 2014, 3:55pm; Reply: 34
Why PH why should have kept the same team and just replaced those that are missing.   No shame in losing to a team in the league above.
Posted by: grimsby pete, November 8, 2014, 3:56pm; Reply: 35
Not happy but rather we lose today than on Tuesday,

We might have a great 2nd half and turn it round,

BUT

The league has got to be our priority.

4-2-3-1 May work for the likes of Chelsea but for us it sucks. They have ripped us to shreds with their forwards pace against our defence. A good start has been slowly taken away and we have a mountain to climb.
Posted by: grimsby pete, November 8, 2014, 4:04pm; Reply: 38
The lad who has scored both goals is making his debut ,

Pity their top scorer is not playing,

Hurst might have had a plan to stop him,

It's hard to stop somebody you have not heard of.

As long as we've gave it a go I'll be happy losing to a better team sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say ok we've been beaten by a better team.  However if they've just not put any effort in and rolled over and died then they need a kick up the backside.

Just had a chat with wapping mariner about exactly the same. Of course we would love another cup run like last year for the £££ but, give me promotion any day. That's not to say we should not show the competitions any disrespect either

Spot on with the whole shape of the team And about Aronld &
Pittman. Hurst should have changed a lot of things at half time.
Diz off what the fook is all that about?????

Tough to criticise the formation when we were well on top for the first 20 minutes. Lack of changes at half time is a bit baffling though

Yes. LJL had a good first twenty minutes. That aside, everyone has been terrible. Oxford aren't that good either. We've just been inept - in both a footballing and tactical sense.

We're flattering them. All their goals have been the result of poor play on our part. We've played too many bad passes and mis-controlled too many simple balls today and they've punished us for that.

Pearson's just volleyed one in though!

Posted by: Chrisblor, November 8, 2014, 4:41pm; Reply: 64
I mean look at it this way - since we've gone 4-4-2 it's 1-1 and we've still not been playing as well as we can. Hurst has a lot to answer about the formation in the first half.
Posted by: Belfast Town, November 8, 2014, 4:42pm; Reply: 65
Pearson scores not from a header. Must be a first!
Posted by: buckstown, November 8, 2014, 4:44pm; Reply: 66
It's strange but I genuinely thought we'd beat Oxford on the top of conference/bottom of league 2 theory. On the basis that Wycombe are also beating Barnet with ease maybe the conference isn't that strong this year?
Posted by: RoboCod, November 8, 2014, 4:48pm; Reply: 67
Barnet have been a man down for a lot of the game though.
Posted by: Abdul19, November 8, 2014, 4:49pm; Reply: 68
And Wycombe are top of League 2
Posted by: cmackenzie4, November 8, 2014, 4:51pm; Reply: 69
Just hope the lads are not too deflated with todays result and can take our league form into Tuesday's game, Hopefully with Pearson scoring that will give us confidence.

The league has to take priority for me.

I don't think so. That was the most unexciting FA Cup tie involving Town I've ever seen, really it was. We had a 10 minute patch in the first half where Lenny hit the post and McCreth hit a feeble shot that their keeper still managed to fumble. Apart from that we were dismal. There was no fight at all. It's the FA Cup for heaven's sake, let's have a go at least! Yes, Oxford outplayed us in all departments and were never in any danger of not winning this game. Yes, they were better than us but that wasn't difficult was it?

Complaints about 4-5-1 (or 4-3-3 if you like) is my guess.

I know we like to see town win, but why can't fans enjoy watching the football played by the opposition as well. I thought it was an interesting game to watch until the last 20 mins or so when there was little for either team to play for.
