Just seen this news on twitter with a statement to be released on the football conference website.

@nonleagueshow: @conferencefooty announce 68 member clubs have wiped out debt to HMRC. Gone from £2m 6 years ago to nil... http://t.co/VeVYSuKgGF

@conferencefooty: Full statement by Board on the eradication of HMRC debt to be posted shortly on the official website. Six years of resolve. Not been easy.

Can only say that it's good news if it is the case that ALL clubs in the conference, the north and the south have all wiped out there HMRC debt despite a few clubs being lost in the process.

Finally football clubs have realised that debts to HMRC is a cancer and does kill. The conference as a League gets a lot of stick for its management (rightly so in some situations) but their stance on HMRC debt is very firm
