Why?,

I know I am a big critic of the way this club is/has been run but when it comes to the highlights ours are usually up quicker than most clubs.

I know our camera crew film many of the away games as you can tell due to the commentary, so perhaps they didn't go to Torquay, if that is the case then I assume we are reliant on Torquay providing footage and may be there is a problem with that. :-/

With a subscription to MP you can log onto any other clubs site if they are on the same system and just checking Torquay's there is no mention of highlights on Gulls Player either.

Looked fairly lucky in reality, LJL's header was keeper error as was Disley's really, why the keeper committed himself to that position he only knows.  Can any of the 250 who went clarify if we were lucky to win on balance?

I think Torquay fans will feel they could/should have won. They were dominant in first 20 mins or so and we were fortunate to go in at h-t in the lead 2nd half was more even and once we went 3-2 up we could have had more.

The thing is we deserved to beat Alty, Dover etc but didn't

Moosey, in my honest opinion we were the usual $hite! If we had lost, which we deserved to, it wouldve been the same performance but cos' we won it papers over the cracks for the time being. I'm taking nothing away from the players but Torquay shouldve buried us before we had a chance to seize on the mistakes by Rice.

Some on here are never happy, was you expecting us to win 7-0.
Sorry but I personally thought we played well enough to win this game and deserved it as we took our chances and had excellent resolve to still look for a winner after being pegged back twice .

If you were there you will know more than me as I only listened and watched the highlights. I thought we played as well as Torquay and once we were in front we were in pole position. My concern would be that we were lucky to be in front as on another day Torquay would have been 2 up in the first 10 minutes.

We look a good side when we have room to play but a poor side when we don't. Room to play brought the goals on the break and I thought Disley made an excellent late run for his. He may have faults but nobody else does that like he can.

So it was a good win but the proof that we are a good side will only be there when we prove we can do it against sides that close us down and when we have to create something from nothing.

I agree we was under the cosh for the first 10-15 mins but away from home I would not expect any other,
We defended well and weathered the storm as to speak,
Torquay are the best team I have seen this season by a country mile ( I have not missed a game home or away) and I thought we held our own against them.
To say we where $hite as a previous poster says is disrespect full to the team who I thought played ok.

Good finish for our first and second goals (though the keeper was culpable for Disley's goal). Very poor defending from us for their second equaliser - their defender just had a standing jump to win the header and didn't have to work very hard for that at all. LJL's winner was perhaps a little lucky as he headed it straight at their keeper so it's a good job the keeper fumbled it!

Nice to take our chances to nick the points for a change as all too often we've dropped points needlessly.

From the chances shown there, they were hardly battering us early on. I'd been led to believe we were under the cosh but they can't have created too many good chances if they didn't bother to put them in the highlights!
Posted by: Chrisblor, October 21, 2014, 11:39am; Reply: 55
Think McKeown needs to work on his footwork when facing free-kicks. That's not the first time he's moved early and wrong footed himself before conceding a free-kick this season. Otherwise he was excellent.

Shame we didn't get an 'inside the net' replay of LJL's finish!
Posted by: RoboCod, October 21, 2014, 12:43pm; Reply: 56
That's really funny...a close-up camera in the corner of the net but only in one goal.  The one possibly contentious 'goal line' incident of the day, our 3rd and it's in the other goal  ::)

Someone should also tell the Torquay fans behind the goal to stand up occasionally and cheer, especially when scoring.

I did not say we were $hite. I said it was the same old $hite as in the way we play largely in away games. Prime example being when they got the free kick i decided not to watch it nestle in the net and opted for a pee instead! How did i know they were gonna score? Maybe because i have seen it a million times before. I was obviously more than happy with the result. No negativity here I'm just giving you my opinion on what i thought instead of "oooh we won we were awesome" when we really were not. It was a fantastic result away at an unbeaten at home team who could have beaten us comfortably whereas we beat them in our usual style. It's a shame some of you choose to dream up scenarios over fact when you don't agree with someone elses views!

Clearly went in from where we were, even though we were behind the goal. The body language of the defenders shows that they knew it went in too, and no close up on the video - if there had been any doubt it would have been replayed ad nauseum!

Torquay do a great job. Great footage and free.

Quit Mariners player a few weeks ago and don't intend to renew until something is done to improve the image quality for highlights, the product simply isn't value for money.

The quality looks no different from footage from the 1980's, are they still using some retro video camera?

Shop's first was taken in the manner of someone who scores loads. Taken casually and with real aplomb. And a rest big smile when he got his second - Neilson landed that ball in a great spot, real vision and understanding between the two. Maybe just maybe......

Disley's was, well, a goal from nowhere. Great effort chasing what looked like a lost cause and to finish from that angle. Excellent.

First time I have seen the goals. All spot  on goals and good finishes for different reasons. First goal what can you say, very composed finish, if that was on MOTD it would be on the short list for goal of the month. Second good instinct and a first time finish, showed a great determination to get to the ball first, and the latter a real quality dangerous ball in and a strikers yes I did say STRIKERS instinct to get in the box on the end of it.
Top draw town , well done.

The codec that FL Interactive Limited uses ( website creators) to compress the videos when the club uploads them reduces the quality so much its a joke, Unfortunately the club have no say in this but I do know they have complained a few times.
If you compare the quality to the GTFC YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdMwoiZbkXY&list=UUKrQFqGTgk68Cwaa8y350Sw which is also done with the same camera.
