McKeown, Magnay, Doig, Nsiala, Thomas, Parslow, Mackreth, Disley, Brown, Neilson, LJL.

Not too happy with having Disley in ahead of Clay but I'm assuming Clay is carrying a knock. UTM

Half time 2-1 up got to be happy so far with the shop and disley rascal scoring. Judging by comments though we are a bit shaky at the back. Chance now over the break to settle them down and plan good solid tactics for the second half. We cannot sit back but also not go hung ho either, pack the midfield I say.  UTM

Superb result from Town, they had only conceded 2 goals at home all season and were unbeaten.

Well done Lenny, you sounded as though you have put in a real shift and have been rewarded with 2 good goals.  Great to see Dizza getting a goal again.

Great performance by all, PH you have had some stick lately but have come back with 2 great away results - we cannot ask for more.  Let's keep the momentum up and take this back to Blundell Park, we only moan because we want our team back in the football league.

One happy Mariner tonight.

Please Town, start winning at home. Another excellent away result and it seems the tougher the game, the better we play. Can't fathom it myself.  :-/

That always seemed to be the way back in the day when we were punching above our weight in the Buckley Mk. II era. I seem to remember we'd invariably do well against the big boys but stutter against the weaker teams.

Of course, we're one of the big boys now so need to turn that side around ourselves.

A great win away from home to a promotion chasing side. Must mention, what a fantastic away following we have, could hear them singing all through the match, they are a real credit to GTFC, A safe journey home to all that travelled...  UTM.

Think it is down to what many have said in that we struggle against sides that o not come at us. Hopefully Arnold and Pitman can give us more attacking options but getting in a creative midfield player may be more beneficial in the long run.

If Pitman can get back - Town are different entity (in a positive way)

Best radio game for ages, we sounded genuinely dangerous almost every attack. Bit shakey at the back but Pearson missing so can forgive that.
Just don't balls it all up now with some insipid home display Town!!!

UTM :)

Were there any smoke bombs today ?

If the young lads made the long trip I hope they left them at home.

Pitman and Lenny would score goals however they both won't stay fit.

There won't be many teams come the end of the season that have won away at Gateshead, Wrexham and Torquay. Quality. Well done the lads. Just worried we are better away due to the expectation of home fans (not a criticism). We have to get better at home before it becomes a problem, although i feel it already is.

Maybe we should take a lesson from another teams book from years ago,

Sorry I can not remember who the team was or the manager that came up with it,

BUT it went like this,

The squad all reported at the ground about 11.00am,

They went for a drive and had a light lunch,

Coming back to the ground about 1.30pm,

It worked, after having a poor home set of results they turned it round and started winning regularly .

Worth a try ?

None of the tables are showing Forest Green's 3 point deduction but that would put us up to 7th.

Funny to read the Torquay forum, not sure how many of them went as they seem to be judging on their own, somewhat one-sided commentary. They aren't happy that their team create so many chances but don't take them, then get hit by the sucker punch. Familiar stuff :)

Best bit I read - 'Midfield bossed it, did what they liked. Defence allowed one real chance all day, nullified what little Grimsby offered going forward'

Only allowed us one real chance, that's some going with that scoreline (icon_rolleyes)

I think they're appealing it. Maybe it can't be deducted until the appeal has been rejected?

Good 3 points. Humberside commentary made it sound fortunate we weren't hammered in first few minutes.

Sounded like Disley back to his best and Shop.....Wow!

It's probably simpler than that. The side is set up to play on the break in away games and that works as long as we get the first goal and don't have to chase the game. I only heard the commentary but it sounded to me like Mckeown's early saves and the clearance off the line were the turning points. If either had gone in we would have struggled but within a few minutes we were in front and it was Torquay chasing the game and leaving us more space to break.

At home other sides set out to do what we do away and that's what stymies us. We don't have that space to run into and we don't have a Plan B. Perhaps we might see this change.

But let's be cheerful. Six very good points keeps us in touch and 3 goals in one game is unbelievable! Salute the travelling fans.
