That was a while ago. They have just decided to appeal it though. After originally pleading guilty.

The club accepted the charge and offered to replay the game, a request rejected by the disciplinary panel.

They weren't so quick off the mark to replay the floodlight-failure game with us though. The appeal system baffles me, both in sport and the law generally. I was always under the impression that you needed a very strong case to make an appeal, anything less could be seen as frivolous and you could have the punishment extended.
Seems a while since that happened though.

There can be no other punishment, outhwise clubs that can afford a fine will be doing it all the time! I do think Southport have suffered more, they have not been given the 3 points taken of FGR.
