I can't see that his name has been mentioned but I see that DJ Campbell is now at Maidenhead United in The Conference South having left Blackburn in the summer and has scored 3 goals in his first 2 games.

He's 32 now but has had a decent career at a much higher level. I know he was involved in the match-fixing scandal a while back but has always denied any wrongdoing.

Just wondered if PH has thought about giving the lad a ring. He's played for a number of "northern" based clubs over his career so maybe he'd be a solution to our striker problem?

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere.

I think it was mentioned that he is close with their manager, but surely worth a go

Amazed he's dropped to that level. I think the spot fixing allegations were pretty serious and not sure if that's all still ongoing.

The manager there is the bloke that 'discovered' him. I doubt he'd leave to stay in non league.

He also stated that he wants to work his way back up. So why not give him a call.

I think that means 'wait til I get signed by someone decent' rather than 'play in every division'.

Surely Grimsby would be something to take his fancy fighting to get back into the football league.

Maybe Hurst has never heard of DJ Campbell (Confused)

He didn't know who Daniel Carr was at Huddersfield (scored 23 goals in 37 games 2 leagues below us), but maybe he's heard of Joe Lolley, is he also twiddling his thumbs at Huddersfield (Confused)

Mentioned it in a thread the other day. Think it was something to do with sh1t managers or sh1t strikers

This is the sort of signing Lord Fenty promised in the summer, but failed to deliver.  One who will make the hairs on the back of our necks stand on end and perhaps the only kind of signing that will save Hurst!

Perhaps he could break a few records for us.
