Chester v Wrexham just kicked off on BT Sport channel.

Wrexham just scored in first minute.

There only looks about 500 wrexham fans, with about 10x as many police than we had at Lincoln.

A lot of Wrexham fans are refusing to travel in protest to it being a bubble match. Chester's defence looks shaky.

What does that mean?

On telly ?

That the only way you can get in the away end is if you travel by the official coaches. Even if you live in Chester you would have to travel to Wrexham to get onto one of the official coaches.

I think it's disgraceful that fans are treated this way by the powers that be. Imagine them doing that for a Town v Lincoln game! You must all travel back to Gy to catch a coach to Lincoln!
Didn't they do it to Hull a couple of seasons ago too?
Anyway, neither teams looking too impressive, awful passing.

It won't be an easy game sat because Chester are playing good football

If only BT had big name pundits from Grimsby and Lincoln.

I can see a "battle" and various cards being given when Pearson and Hobson clash

Chester look decent to me

Great winner for Chester in 94th minute!, certainly wont be easy on Saturday based on that performance

Ain't football cruel?
Chester have done well but they've put everything into this game. Can only hope it's a little like Lincoln versus us, they blew a gasket in their effort to beat us and are back to normal now, 2 defeats since.  Could be a case of after the Lord Mayors show?

Great advert for the Conference really, and BT pulling out "names" as pundits in Owen and Savage

We should still be more than capable of beating chester at home Saturday. Good result for us.

They did. It was when they played at Huddersfield. Why Huddersfield v Hull was deemed to be worthy of being a bubble game I'm not sure. Anyway there was a story at the time of a Hull fan who lived in Huddersfield and had to travel to Hull to get a coach to the game!

Let's hope so but they'll be buzzing by the win and probably think "nothing to lose" before they travel to BOTT Telford.

Why isn't Owen playing for Chester ?... (thumbdown)

Too old now apparently, he was interviewed before the game though and his son is a so called expert pundit for BBC

If we cant beat chester at home then we might just well give up now.

Why? Do we have a divine right to win games, or something? They've just beaten a team above us in the table, don't forget.

No their is no divine right to win, but lets be real if you dont win your home games against teams like chester you don't win promotion.

Exactly!   wish we had another alternative striker wise though

It doesn't matter who you beat, just as long as you get enough points by the end of the season. Failing to win on Saturday wouldn't be good (even with an injury-hit team), but saying that we might as well give up if we don't get the 3 points isn't realistic.

Plenty of football to be played this season yet. A lot depends on which forward options we have available, I expect. Hopefully, Hurst is still looking for another striker as, even with Oates in the squad, we are down to the bare bones.

Some comments on the Wrexham forum :-

"Conner Teflon Jennings. This young man must be a favourite of KW no matter how many times he cocks up he is always in 1st eleven and never substituted"

Now who does that remind you of? ;)

"Reality check. Those who say that we have the best strike force in the league are deluding themselves. Jennings really isn't very good is he?"

"Wilkin showed some tactical naivety tonight as the team invited too much pressure and sat too deep."

"I'm getting more and more worried about Ashton!,,, absolute crap"

"Which one was the pub team, absolutely pathetic second half, hang your heads in shame, that was a total disgrace and yes Chester did deserve it."

So to all those on here who seem to think it is only a "Grimsby" thing to moan, they are above us in the league and still not happy. :P

So just to recap so I haven't missed anything here...... What you are saying is if we don't beat a team like Chester at home we will not win promotion?

Not strictly true is it!!!!

stop being silly, even barralad will admit you need to win your home games, especially against teams like chester to stand a chance of promotion.

what is it with some on here who try to convince mainly themselves,  its chester at home Grimsby should be getting 3 points.

If I am not mistaken, Chester are only 3 points behind us, but I do expect that to be 6 by Sat evening.
