That should be our target for September with 4 home games and three tough away games bit early to start saying season defining but with this amount of games it's certainly going to have a massive bearing on our season

Sounds about right. If we need 92 points by the end, that's 2 points per game. So 15 from 7 games....etc...etc..

I think the TARGET has to be 21points

I doubt we'd win the league with that. The winner usually gets over 100 points in this division don't they?

Luton got 101, but they won the league by 19.

Sorry but we should only be targeting a win on Saturday, then we'll think about Tuesday then the following Saturday. I know it's a cliche but it's true.

Fair enough but what happens when we fail to hit unrealistic targets?

Surely you target to win every game, you won't win them all but each time a Town side goes on to the pitch I would expect them to be targeting 3 points. Anything less is targeting failure which I don't think is acceptable.
IMO I want to see us be more adventurous than in previous seasons, challenge our opponents and have the attitude 'we are better than you' and go out with the sole aim of proving it.
If we went out to attack teams throughout I accept from time to time we would come unstuck but the number of games we would win would make us very realistic challengers for 1st place.

if a reasonable target is 15 point for September it should be at least 20 points as we are already 5 points behind where we should reasonably be!

The only player with that sort of mentality, or swagger if you want, is scott neilson. you have to believe it yourself before you can impose it on your opponents.

Agree BC and have been saying so for some time.

We'll have a job getting 20 points from 7 games ;)

Target has to be 6 out of 6 wins

Not ambitious enough. Let's go for 7 wins! :P

We have 9 from 6 games so far and we need to be getting up to an average of 2 points per game. To achieve that after another 7 games means we would need 17 points from them, equal to 5 wins and 2 draws. All theory of course and I am sure the aim is to get as many as possible.

You're half right I suppose. Yes, taking each game into isolation of course you should be aiming to win each game. But when you look at a period of 6, 7 plus games it is unrealistic to expect to win every single game. I'm sure PH knows himself what he wants to get out of the next few games and I'm sure he'd be happy with around 15 points if we are being realistic.

Yet I guess if you asked
some fans (including on here) whether me MUST win each game before the season started...
(i.e. asking them 1 fixture at a time x 46 separate times)
You might well get "Yes !" back
every time ! ??)
Conclusion ?
Perhaps some expect us to win each and every game we play. (i.e. 100% success rate expectation)
Perhaps it's why some say "We must win the next one !!" and just repeat it every new game. :-/
