It's crusty a birthday today and the best present I could get would be the signing of Boyce till the end of the season please not let it be another pondy situation we failed to act quickly enough and never recovered after his loss

I would love to see Boyce stay but the difference between this season and last is the performance of Scunny.

Last year they didn't need him and were happy for him to stay with us. This season it looks more likely that they will need him.

I hope they don't recall him, ideally I would like him permanently but I have a feeling they will be asking for him back soon.

But if he didn't get near their team in League 2 how close is he to it in League 1?

Boyce is a good 'stopper' but I'd tend to think he might struggle to play any higher than League 2 at the moment. Not the best distribution from the back but I think he could be a very good player at this level and I was hoping he might sign in the summer. A long term loan (if within the rules?) would be good.

Agree, but it will allow Toto and Pearson to play as a pair and Bignot to fill in at right back, would prefer the option of Boyce staying though

Why is this addressed to Mr Fenty?? He said it's not his decision who to sign or who to sack, it's a board decision.

Happy Birthday Crusty,

We do not need Boyce, he is not very good ( wink wink )

BUT

As a favour to Scunny who have helped us out a few times,

We will take him off their hands either for a season loan,

OR

If they do not want him back, we will keep him permanently.  8)

Hireling and firing are indeed board decisions.

Players are based on recommendations from the manager and the club have by and large satisfied every request. And that is because they have been reasonable and within budget. Outside of that are boards decisions.

Thought just came to me.

Wonder when Hurst was looking for a LB he was looking at someone who could fill in as backup centre back too ?

Course Magnay can do that.
But if Boyce returned and someone at the back got injured...?

Many happy returns crusty, like you I would like him to stay, competition for places is great in some circumstances, but regular game time to all the squad keeps up unity and morale. Also gives us the chance of playing three center halves or the conventional two, plus facts don't lie we have only conceeded 2 in the first 5 games.
