"We are asking for volunteers to clear snow from the pitch ahead of tomorrow night's eagerly awaited match at home to Grimsby Town."

"Willing volunteers are asked to report at the main reception on Quarry Lane at 10am tomorrow morning and to ask for Mike Merriman, Head Groundsman.  Brushes and wheelbarrows should be brought to help clear the snow from both the pitch and stands, if possible."

Taken from their OS http://www.mansfieldtown.net/news/article/volunteers-required-tomorrow-707450.aspx

Wonder if this means the game is in doubt?  :o

This was said to me on saturday , seeing what the forecast was I believe my friend was right . It'll be a frozen pitch , is there going to be an inspection?

I bloody well hope not, i've bought the tickets and plan to drive there tomorrow. Also from a town point of view, we really don't need any more cancellations at this moment in time.

So all that fuss about calling it off at Christmas for their failed 90minutes against Liverpool could hurt both sides?

Should've thought about that when they claimed it was waterlogged.

If they have 2ins of snow on the pitch, it should not be frozen,

Forecast says it will be +2   +3 for the rest of the day so should be on.

Appears big chance that wrexhams game at Lincoln will be off, early pitch inspection arranged to prevent Wrexham travelling

Surely they'll leave the snow on to insulate the pitch overnight in order to get the game on? A little bit of snow forecast overnight in Mansfield but nothing too major, with temperatures falling no lower than 1 degree throughout the day. There's a good chance this game will be on.

According to RH, they're clearing the snow at 10am for a pitch inspection shortly afterwards.

Think it'll be fine. As long as today stays mild; shouldn't be that frozen if it was under the snow.

With the current schedule, I think it'd have to be like an ice rink to be off.

It's not often that I want Lincoln to win but tonight is one of those occasions. (If the game is on of course)

The way this is going, the last two weeks of the season will probably have a full conference programme every day.

It's getting dafter by the month.

Just hope common sense prevails. Players are far more likely to get injured playing 4-5 games a week than they are playing on a pitch which is a bit hard in places.

I would have thought an inspection later in the day would have been better, it's not like the boys have far to travel unlike Wrexham to Lincoln, especially with the temp meant to be above 0 all day there

Is it just a coincidence that nearly all our back log seems to be away matches.  Proof once again that our pitch is one of the best around. last Saturday it was in surprisingly good nick after all that rain and sleet.

Downside is it has left us with a rock hard run in away from home.

If the game is on, anyone know the best route to take from Cleethorpes? Google maps suggests the M180 and M1 when i thought the A46 would be a quicker way of getting there?

Of course, you dont expect Mansfield to make things easy for the fans to attend do you?

Just emailed MTFC about it and the reply was basically tough excrement. They need to bend the rules just a little bit to suit he circumstances, but they are just coming over all Vogon-like.

The Lincoln game is on

Hope they manage to get one over on Wrexham but realistically I doubt it

I am not so sure think the Chimps under the new Manager may get a draw out of this, they can then lose until the end of season for me!

Lincoln won easily at The Racecourse earlier in the season. Let's hope that Lincoln will turn out to be a bogey team for Wrexham.

Forgot about that one Les...you're right! So let's hope they've got enough about them to do the double!  :)
