Worst has to Tomi Ameobi absolutly awful followed by Menno Willems. David Nielsen has to be the best that goal against WBA at home.

I think you should read the initial post again Meza,   ;)

And I don't think Tomi Ameobi can be classed as foreign as he was born in Newcastle and has lived here all his life before moving to play for his current club in Iceland,

Best: David Nielsen
Worst: Many of the rest

Best:George Santos
George Santos joined Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2006, he turned down an offer to return to former club Grimsby, something he later admitted in an interview as the biggest mistake in his career.

Worst:Mickaël Antoine-Curier

Always thought Ashley Sestanovich was foreign. Is he out of prison yet...

Best - George Santos by a mile, I had a long chat with him in a hotel in Ipswich one evening - brilliant bloke and loved the Mariners
My favourite - Menno Willems. Hated all the stick he took (and is no doubt still taking on this thread) Saw him when Town played away to Portsmouth, he was hitting balls where Town players SHOULD have been if they were a) on his level and b) had his football brain and foresight.
Worst - any you like from the rest of the list - we,ve had some stinkers

According to his wiki page he was born in Lambeth, London and is of Croatian and Grenadian descent.

It states that he was jailed for 8 years in April 2007 so as most only serve half their term it's a good chance that he'll be out now.

Santos and Bonetti for me Santos was a no nonsense natural born leader Bonetti the cultured highly skilful talisman.

Never seen anybody who could whip in such a wicked cross at pace as good has him,he restored my faith in town when i was starting to get bored and must have put at least an extra thousand on the gate.

What a shame it ended on a sour note. I liked Laws but he dropped a real clanger there maybe Bonetti and his agent were undermining his authority.

Had a word with him at waterstones whilst buying his autobiography seemed a real quietly
spoken chap LOL

He was born in England too, so can't really be classed as a foreigner.

He's still playing today for Nairn County in The Highland League.

Ivano Bonetti and Joe Waters - Class
Posted by: 75 (Guest), January 18, 2013, 11:03am; Reply: 29
I know it said excluding Ivano but he was fantastic. He's played in the european cup final!

Okay, excluding Ivano I'd say Zhang Enhua was the best foreign player, he should have been through as we were paying him £14500 per WEEK (how times have changed). I think signing him was a brave decision based on trying to access the Chinese market and money which backfired on us as he kept Peter Handyside and Richard Smith out of the side at the time, we ended up losing Peter at the end of the season.

When choosing the worst player I have considered the level we were playing at (Championship) and I choose Knut Anders Fostervold who was shocking IMO. Made Galli look like Roberto Carlos! Serge Makofo had worse ability but he gave it his very best shot and of course played three divisions lower that Knut, fair play to the lad.

Best: Bonetti

Worst: Mickael Antoine-Curier. I remember the match he played in against Sheffield Wednesday! He came on after 38 mins but was subbed after 67 mins. He was THAT bad!

Bonetti was he bought but bucket collection? He was a class act. Was he finished after Laws went mental at him at Luton?

God did you suffer Hydelgaard in goal too?! Awful keeper

Fostervold still likes Grimsby. He is on tv now and then, talks about them.

Neilson was good but he could have been a really top player,

BUT

He had a lot of personal problems of his own making,

So for thet reason he was not my favourite just a disapointment.

He was here on loan but I'm fairly sure that he never actually made a first team appearance.

I think it was a crying shame when Martin Pringle got injured, i thought he really was a quality signing for us and we never got to see the best of him. As for one of the worst, some may disagree but he was definitely over rated was Chima Okorie. Will never forget driving all the way down to Portsmouth to stand on their open terrace getting bloody soaked and losing 3-1 with CHIMA scoring a late consolation goal. The fans singing CHIMA CHIMA lol, he really was quite pants.

I thought the only goal Chima scored was away at Tranmere when we lost 4-1 in The League Cup.

This was an amazing night. Town, we're 5hit all over. Until this bloke started warming up down the left hand touch line, the support had been quiet. The songs at first slow, then crescendoed when he scored THAT goal.
