Put mittens on so that they can't check how many fingers you have, then go in the home stand.

Wouldn't work. You'd have to grow an extra head too.  ;)

According to sources its not the clubs or our police that are putting the blocks on another block of seats being released.

Correct. According to one of our stewards yesterday its the Lincolnshire Plods who are blocking it. And no, it wasn't Aarons dad who told me.

I honestly think the police will just cause more problems by not allowing more tickets to be supplied to Town.

This is not an anti police response as tbh the police do a job that is made difficult buy gooders, human rights and out dated laws and red tape.

For me why would you risk Grimsby fans going in the Home end? Why have Grimsby fans roaming Lincoln when the game is on, when half the ground will be empty. It makes no sense at all!

Most of us will behave and most their fans are well behaved.

It is already an early kick off so problems with drunken behaviour has been reduced.

Their are no trains or public transport on a Boxing day either so resources are not needed near the station.

I think LCFC and GTFC need to be contacting Lincolnshire Chief Commissioner to go through why blocks are being put on the release of more tickets.

The figures on Arrests over the past 5 games should be analysed and reports of problems to see why such an issue is occurring.

They will argue that arrest numbers at these games are reduced because of how they police the fixture.  They will then state that we are 7th in the country for banning orders and will justify what ever restrictions on the game as they like.

It is also a case of them not being able to accommodate a big club, you would have thought that the numbers we are capable of taking would see some very welcome cash into their struggling club.  Typical Lincoln, cutting their nose off to spite their face.

I wonder how many Liverpool tickets would have been given out.

Reckon we'll get a few more hundred behind the goal when police realise the true extent as to how many fans will go in the home end.

I am sure officers of both police forces are reading this.....Hi Darren!

It just needs a sensible approach to the game. Do not go winding fans up, if fans are treated ok, they tend to behave better.

As for Burton, watch the clip on youtube.....it kicked off when their kids ran at the Town fans. Why was this never mentioned?

If the police are blocking this they are puddled. For all the reasons mentioned, it is just daft to not to correctly allocate seats to those that want to go, especially in a stadium that will not be full. If they do not offer more tickets and it all kicks off because some idiots mix with other idiots, then the person that made this decision is totally culpable. In a year where we've learnt just how flawed police logic is around managing football, this would not in anyway surprise me.

Most the Lincoln fans I know can't understand why we're not being given more tickets! They'd rather they got money from us and they'd rather we weren't in the home end!

Already a good few Town fans going to be sitting in the Lincoln end which is a ridiculous state of affairs when they are unlikely to pull in 4000 home supporters for this game LCFC are being denied much needed income and GTFC followers much needed tickets that are not required by the home support.

There were quite a few in the Lincoln stands last year. As long as people are sensible it should be ok but I agree it would make more sense to get all GTFC fans in the same stand. I couldn't be doing with going in with their lot. doesn't seem much point if you can't sing, cheer, boo, celebrate etc.

I fear common sense will go out the window on Boxing Day due to the sheer number of Town fans in the Lincoln stands I have never known so many genuine Town fans without tickets for a game yet you just know they are still going to travel when they are aware of at least 2000 empty seats. When the inevitable chaos ensues I hope the powers that be can justify why they would not grant more tickets to our support and keep the 2 sets of fans segregated I advise all supporters with tickets to get in the ground early because this as they say will get messy.

Hi Ross many thanks for your email.

I do appreciate your concerns, and I can confirm that we are working very closely with Grimsby Town FC (GTFC) and the Lincolnshire Police to ensure that all fans are able to enjoy the game in a safe and comfortable environment.

We have issued tickets to GTFC for the maximum number of seats that we can make available to their supporters, after allocating sterile areas for segregation purposes. If we were to issue any more tickets to them we would have to ask LCFC Season Ticket holders to move seats, which would not be acceptable to them.

We are aware that some GTFC fans have stated on messageboards that they may try and access home areas of the ground, and this is an issue that both clubs take very seriously. GTFC have reminded their supporters that the game is ‘all ticket’ for away fans, and have stated that if any GTFC fans are found guilty of accessing home supporters areas at Sincil Bank, they will be subjected to a banning order at Blundell Park. GTFC have also agreed to send down some of their stewards to work as spotters, and to work closely with LCFC Stewards and the Police to ensure spectator safety inside and outside the stadium.

I hope you do come to the game, enjoy a great atmosphere and of course an Imps win !

Best wishes

Steve Prescott

Anyone Grimsby fans caught in the Lincoln home end will face a banning order at Blundell Park

There are no laws about what stand you can sit in at a football match and as long as you dont cause any bother who would ever know.
Just scare tactics that should be ignored

First of all can fans be banned if they behave and do not cause any issues in the ground? Surely human rights violation, if a fan had enough money to stand against such a charge and use the Human Rights Act.

So let me get this straight, LCFC who are on the bare bones of their bottom would turn away an extra 1000+ fans at £16 per ticket because season tickets may moan. FFS if they go bust, will the season ticket holders have a party?

Also imagine the scenes if police started kicking out a fair few Town fans from the home end.....not stirring trouble but you could imagine what would happen, a fair few Lincoln lads would certainly go wading in and all of a sudden you have potential for serious disorder.

Also have GTFC made any statement about banning fans if this happens?

If they wanted to put safety first the whole ground would be made all ticket or they would give us extra tickets are required.....HALF YOUR GROUND WILL BE EMPTY FFS!

To be honest it makes no odds to me, I have a ticket in the AWAY end and I will be celebrating when we get those 3 points. UTM

I fear this will get very very silly. I'm off to a brewery to organise a urine up if anyone wants to come, cos you'll be a long time waiting for LCFC and Lincs Police to organise one.

I'm nearly tempted to go in the home end and strip down to my Town shirt to see if the fornicators try to eject/ban me. I'll then relive the best film title ever "Fat Bloke Goes Nutzoid"

Without involving any emotion, difficult where footy is concerned but try....
We have been allocated tickets and seats for the game...they have all been sold...therefore if you do not have a ticket you should not travel. Simple.

Anybody who does not understand that is not only risking there own safety but the safety of others, as football is tribal and they are despite their denial local rivals, any isolated supporters may be targeted by an element of the Lincoln crowd. It is about crowd safety.

People cannot turn upto the game, go in home stands and should they experience trouble blame LCFC or Lincs Police for not giving more seats, the issue would lie directly with any persons ignoring the statements and advice issued. Fact.

IMO GTFC have c0cked up here with their selling arrangements, allowing ST holders two bites of the cherry and letting them hoover up at least 3 each has exacerbated if not created the scenario now being contemplated by those who have missed out.

Agree absolutely with this, I am disappointed to miss this game, going to mansfield instead, a big part of away games is meeting up with mates and having a few beers & cheering on the town together

I'm pretty certain it's not an offence to have a ticket / sit in designated 'home' areas as an away fan.

I would think that the offence they would use to eject/arrest anyone would be under Section 5 Public Order (behaviour likely to cause distress) if you were to celebrate a goal / join in with GTFC songs etc.  I highly doubt GTFC would ban anyone for sitting in the home areas at Sincil Bank.

Unfortunately our footy liaison 'officer' appears to be someone who relishes seeing as many Town fans banned as possible so there would be the potential that he would push the courts for this if you were arrested.

This game will cost the Imps between 12-20k in lost ticket revenue money they can ill afford to lose and why ffs?Certain SB holds around 10k which is actually more than BP and even the most ardent Lincoln fan would struggle to argue the gate will exceed 7k on Boxing Day meaning 3k empty seats half of which we could fill such is the demand it defies belief :-/The Police are getting paid an awful lot of money for doing nothing when it comes to football last Season both sets of hooligans combined mustered about 80 at SB so I can only conclude thanks to Dodds rabid antics the entire GTFC away support is regarded as a risk element?May I suggest PC Dodds you identify and ban with immediate effect all known Season Ticket Holders who have purchased tickets for this game so that the decent supporters like myself who only wish to share a mince pie and a warm cocoa with the Lincoln supporters maybe left to enjoy the football.Thankyou 1ML

Quite ok but I will be disappointed with anything less than 6 points from trampling the bumpkins down the A46 over Yuletide!Ps Vital the only guy on there who seems to have a clue what he is on about is Old Guard how on earth they can sit there and have a go at us for wanting more tickets when we got and sold 2200 Last Season in midtable shows a real lack of grey matter. The Imps at present are on a decent run and will receive 2200 tickets for NYD whilst being approx where we were last Season and they wont shift 700 and my God will the list of excuses be something to enjoy.
